Why does everyone have a huge boner for Diesel?

    245k+ miles, rust, working AC, bald eagles
    agreed with today's technology, but lots of people nowadays trade their cars in after about 100k. For them a hybrid would be awesome because they would never see that cost (batteries will do 150 - 200k miles generally).

    4.56 gears, rear trutrac,DT header, 235/85r16 Duratracs, 2nd filter pulled, inter.wipers, Cruise control, Factory alum. whls/winter tires(2nd set), Afe pro Dry-S , Dumbo eared flaps cut down.
    We just got rid of 4 diesel hybrid work vehicles , the fail idea was to shift a manual transmission automatically, in a time when a lot of autos are equal and some exceed manuals.
    Maybe in 5-10 more years.

    I get the same fuel economy as my dad but he has a 3/4 ton 4x4 with 350 hp and 650 lb/feet of torque
