Hey guys, so i'm wanting to throw a Flowmaster 40 on my truck. Does anyone know if its just a bolt on or will there be some welding involved:confused: I'd like to do it myself but i'm not sure if it's the best thing. I have access to a welder but i'm also not sure about fitment and pipe bending and all that sh*t...also where should I buy it? The cheaper the better ;)
    Thanks for your help!!

i asked a similar question a while ago and was told that you can clamp the muffler on, but for security and sound reasons, it is better to weld it on.

    getting there....
buy a flowmaster 40 off ebay........offset in/center out....2.5 inches, and get a shop to cut the old one out...weld in the new one. if you do it, you will need to flare your stock pipe a bit for fit.

I used clamps (for now) and sealed the inside of them with exhaust pipe weld. I will eventually get it welded on.

I got the flowmaster 50 series and just used the supplied clamps for now. So far everything is okay from what I can tell. I want to tac weld them for more security but not to stressed about that yet. I have a couple of buddies with welders so I will get to it when I can.;)

Found a muffler shop in my area: Flowmaster 50 series delta flow & installed (welded) for $127.00. Thought this was a pretty good deal.

Hey man, I live in chandler. Basicly straight up the 101. I got mine installed at a shop down the street and i paid 160 even with the muffler. its wleded on and has custom brackets. if you already have the muffler hey said it would be 70 bucks to put it on. it took about an hour from them to do everything which isn't bad. PM if you want the name of the shop.

I'd say so, especially since the 50s run around $100 just for the muffler...
