I'm considering buying a new Tacoma... and have been searching for an answer to this question. If anyone here can answer, I would appreciate it.

Let's say you connect your phone to the truck for bluetooth streaming. You're streaming your music, and you turn the truck off.

You come back later. Does the truck automatically connect back to your phone for streaming music (not for the phone)? Or do you have to push a button on the receiver/screen to reconnect it every single time?

Thanks. I wasn't sure if it worked the same as my wife's 4-Runner or not. We could be doing something wrong, but it seems we have to reconnect that one everytime.

I have issues sometimes when I plug it in then unplug it with the USB but if I'm just using my Bluetooth it always reconnects and continues where it left off. I only use the USB if my phone is dead.

some of this, a little of that
depends, if it has been less than a couple of hours mine will pick up automatically. A lot of times after working all day I will get in the car and I will have to go into spotify and restart the song. However the other morning I got in to go to work and it started on its own.

What should you do if it automatically doesn't reconnect?

I used to be able to get back in my truck and phone would automatically reconnect to my phone to stream music. Now when I turn off the ignition and turn it back on, the stereo says BT AUDIO NOT FOUND. Any suggestions?

What phone are you using? When you start the truck back up, push the audio button. That should bring up all the available options. If Bluetooth isn't available, then push-setup>blutooth>connect phone> then choose which ever device you're using. If it doesn't connect, check the phone and make sure blutooth is on.
