drop filters arejust exspensive and kind of a waste of money.
stock replacement paper filters are best or if you want some extra performance go for the URD intake

Stock intake + napa gold filter, flow is insane, plus you can't beat paper filtering.

What do you mean by Hot Air? the lid is on and this intake does run into the inner fender so it does pull cool air from there (but it will get warm as it goes through the box/tube as all intakes will)

    afe pro dry drop in

I switched to a stage 2 si afe intake with pro dry filter.

As soon as i switched i noticed my scangauge was off by a little bit (usually very consistent). I gained approximately 1 mpg. I do not think i gained any power with the intake. It does make a lot of noise in the higher rpm though.

This past weekend, driving with 285/75r16 duratracs i averaged ~19 mpg driving on the highway at ~70 mph.

Two weeks ago driving on the stock sized dunlops i averaged ~23 mpg doing the same drive.

Take this info however you would like. All i know is when i read about mpg's on here, i seem to always be getting a little better than others with similar setups to me. I also have allpro front and rear bumpers, and sliders.

I wasn't sure if u put the lid back on..... I've been running this intake for yrs and its a great design.

And trust me..... I beat the shit out of it..... I've got the exhaust and fender liners coated in rubber still.... Despite scrubbing.

    .... Land of performance haters.

I used to post links to dynosheets proving that these trucks can be improved upon even while n/a. I took a break from that tho.

You've already paid for it so its done no need to keep buying paper filters. I knock the dirt out of mine every oil change and run water through it ever 2-3 oil changes.
