Not really understanding your issue. You have the display extended to your TV, just drag iTunes to the TV screen and keep Safari on your laptop screen. Are you trying to change spaces?

yes, i did that but when i'd go to safari on my mac and on the TV (which would show a grey screen instead of safari), i ended up trying it without being fullscreen in iTunes or safari and but them both on desktop 2, safari on my mac and iTunes on the tv.
Change spaces? what does that mean?

Ok, you're going fullscreen which causes the screen that the fullscreen app is not on to grey out. Unfortunately nothing you can do about that. I believe Mavericks (the new version of Mac OS coming) will fix this.

For now just expand the window to fill the screen rather than using true fullscreen mode.

Aaron is correct. The fullscreen app mode is worthless when multiple monitors come in to play. Hit the (+) button up in the corner next to your minimize and close, then drag to size if need be.

another question, my moms mac and mine seem to be using the same IP address, when she goes on it it pops up a message saying another computer is using her IP address and when she tells it to join it kicks me off the internet, is their a way to fix this?

we have 3 MacBooks, 3 windows computers, and 4 iPhones, and 3 other i devices on the same internet.

While both computers are on and connected to the network do this on one of them. Go to System Preferences (Apple Menu > System Preferences). Select Network, and then with whatever you use to connect to the network highlighted on the left (wi-fi, ethernet, etc.) click on Advanced in the bottom right corner. Then choose the TCP/IP tab and click Renew DHCP Lease. That should grab a new IP for that computer. And you can go to the same spot on the other computer to verify they now have different IP's.

Does anyone know why my iPhone 5 is having trouble with its Wi-Fi. I connect it to my home network and it connects and shows full reception but as soon as i try internet or app store it shows, Not connected to the server.

Apple care recommended me to go to a genius bar...

Hey stupid question how many years do people normally get out of a Mac before you start to see failure issues?

ive had my 09 macbook pro since it came out in mid year, Besides a battery and hard drive... No serious problems with the actual board. Less the 200 bucks for almost 5 years...sounds good to me.

I still have my MacBook Pro circa 2006, the first intel model which I got on release day. Runs as my media server in my basement. Only thing I've had to do is replace the battery and maybe the hard drive.

Seems as if the battery and hard drive have kill limits. Either that or heat just kills them..

hopefully my 27" iMac lasts along time. $2200 is just to much to have die on me.

1st Gen Black Macbook still going strong. Gone through 3 batteries, but it will no longer charge anymore. Had it looked at and it's more money and time than it's worth to fix so she spends her time close to the walls.

I also have a 24" iMac that I bought as a refurb model from the Apple store at the UNL campus...got it for a measly $999 in 2009 and she still runs anything I throw at her.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
    .
This past weekend went to the local Apple store to perhaps get a iPad 128GB for $799.98 ...

Instead I got a little 11" MacAir and love this thing and it is fast too :burnrubber: ... and got a good deal ... :D

New model has been out maybe 2 months = $999.98 = I-5 chip with 124 GB SSD & 4GB RAM.

$999.98 regular price ... minus educational discount which brought it down to $942.00 (weird number) ... NO 7% sales tax day in GA kept it at $942.00 ... FREE iTunes $100.00 card brought it down (in my mind :D) to $842.00 ... Discover Card Points brought it down to $592.00 ... Christmas gift Visa brought it down to .... FINAL PRICE = $492.00 OTD .. plus a "free used $79.00 leather case" for patiently waiting in a long line ... :)

And I love this thing too ... :)
