Thanks man. Fucking exhausting. Old places are extra fun. I asked a buddy who recently bought a place, "Did you ever get to the point where you wanted to choke everyone involved in you escrow?"

He responded "as a start..."

 

Ill take some pics tomorrow if I remember to. I'm getting tired of it. I even called the engineer and architect today to confirm the wall heights just to make sure I didn't mess up.

Are hanging trusses not aligning with a girder or the overhangs don't align ?

 

I have a split house with scissor trusses. One side is 12/12 and hangs from the 50' long three ply girder to a double plate on the floor. The other side is 6/12 and sits on a 8' wall. The 12/12 trusses fit well but the 6/12 trusses have a 5/8" gap at the top of the girder but are tight on the bottom. The girder is only 4' tall....

The dormer is a whole other story

 

The overhangs have all been modified from plan, supposed to be 2' overhangs but reduced them to 16" so we 'cleaned up' that part of the truss

 

Oh shit! I forgot about the TR6! Dammit!

 

debating if i want to cut my grass tonight.... that would involve cut tree branches

On my spec sheets they say they have a tolerance of 1/4". I want to call and ask if that means for both side from the centreline.

I had a one truss that was supposed to be 12'-11", it was 12'-11 1/2"

 

Is your 8' wall 8' or 8' 3/4" ?

Is that spec'd on the plan ?

Interesting , so you can't use precuts , that seems kinda weird

Standard 92 1/4's + 3 plates is 8' 3/4"

 

Our standard precuts are 92 5/8, and our 3 plates add up to 4 5/8

That was another issue, my lift of precuts ranged from 92 1/4 up to 92 3/4

 

What's your 9' precut lengths?

We get 104 5/8"
