Jay did you sell your truck to them or send it in to get fixed? I'm lost in this story.

I believe he traded the Tacoma in for the FJ. He noticed issue with the throw-out bearing & when he took it in for them to fix it all hell broke loose.

Good to hear, I'm not sure I would have been able to keep as calm. I would have driven the FJ right through the front show room window.

Hi all, I am budman, and been enjoying this thread recently. Jay I can't wait to hear how your dilemma turns out. Here is mine:

So I just got a call from USAA fraud department, someone down in Tulare got my card info and went for a sporting goods spending spree. LUCKILY (even though USAA would reimburse), the transaction declined. Its a lame feeling knowing someone else is spending my hard earned money.

I try and be very careful with my ATM info. Last week I ordered some parts from a local Toyota dealer (to remain nameless for now). I had to give my card number over the phone, which made me uncomfortable, but I did it anyway. Within days, this happens. Everywhere else my card was used recently I patronize regularly without any problems, ever. Am I wrong for assuming it was the dealer parts guy or someone else behind the counter?

    Good to hear.

But really, if they're offering to take the thing back and just refund your money -- that would be a pretty good outcome.

Unless the dealer you gave the number to, and the sporting goods store are in the same town - I'd say coincidence.

Wait, so was it originally $14K not $10,500 or did someone add some cash to the deal?

To soothe your frustration and pay for the bearing install? Good deal in the end.

Thanks again Jay for the recommendation. Yelp reviews say this place gets really crowded. :(

Ian: i wont be wheeling. I found out recently that my family doesn't share the same enthusiasm for wheeling as i do.

I'm looking at the yelp reviews on this and it seems like a really cool place. Does it get crowded?

Google maps says road is CLOSED APR is that April?

Yeah, I'm trying to think coincidence, but its pretty convenient it happened right after I gave the number over the phone. I wonder if he wrote it down or put it straight into the machine. Maybe someone found it in the trash.

I know that I'll never be sure how my ATM card number got out, too many maybes and what ifs. But I won't be putting my card number out any other way than in person (except for the Wet Okole GB )
