That would put the strap right at the front of my coil over, but I think it would clear if I mounted the upper part a little forward. I don't want to stress the bolt too much either. Why the hell didn't they engineer this into the control arm design... What have others done for limit straps? I keep killing axles.

Is it feasible to weld on a tab securely enough?

It will work fine, tons of old buggy guys used to set it up this way.

No it will not be fine, the strap will rub on the coil seat and end up tearing, I've seen it happen multiple times. You could maybe run a long spacer to get it far enough away from the shock

I agree that you will want to space accordingly. It is up to you as the person installing them to double check and make sure that nothing will fail due to improper install.

I am in no way saying that this is the best way/correct way to install limit straps, but if you do not have a welder this will work. Just make sure that you regularly check your suspension and the strap. Straps stretch and sometimes tear. No matter what it is you are installing make sure you maintain it.

The 2" all pro kit? Their arm looks like you may be able to run a limit strap off the front. You will have to check it like others have said, but with 2-4 washers and a longer bolt i think it might clear off the front

1 3/4" .120 fits perfect on a 1" uniball. place it on the uniball and hit with a mini sledge. once out clean the cup with sand paper put some anti-seize on the cup and place your new uniball in the freezer. once its good an frozen heat the cup a bit not red hot but a okay amount of heat place frozen uniball on the cup and hit it once with a dead blow or mallet and it will pop in no problem. add your snap ring and you are golden.

Could not said it better myself. This is what I've always done. A few times I've had ones be a bitch and had to throw them in the press but that's 1 out of 100

its been soaking for a few hours now and doesn't seem to have done much. even with an electric impact. hmmm might take some serious torque to break it loose

if it starts to back out and still tight, go back and forth a few times while soaked in the penatrant. to get it to go back into the threads deeper and slowly back it out. rinse repeat.
