Got weather cancelled yesterday. Had to get up at 2:00 and do a briefing for just to sit around until 6:30 just for it to get cancelled.... Then it was clear weather from 10:00 on to the rest of the day. I should have had today off, stupid weather....

Haha yeah, for once I'm hoping the Air Force's "Hurry up and wait" applies to me while I'm here.

 

It looks like in 2016, I will be going TDY back to McConnell for 8-10 months. I've lived there 10 years. My wife is from there. I guess I will get paid to go try to sell my house if that's the case

I have renters in there for 2 years right now. They will probably stay in there until I sell the place, or move back in myself.

It's a buddy of mine. I already "lost" money in the first month though. They thought they had fleas (never had them in 4 years there). We sprayed for them to appease them... It was frickin chiggers which I told them in the beginning! That's one other thing to add to the "things I hate about the Midwest" list.

No, it's all good. In 2 years of rent, I will gain 2 years worth of equity, effectively giving me 3.5k worth of equity. I ALSO gain 250 extra a month for 24 months on this lease. So, I should have 6k extra cash from rent when I get back if I wanted to go back to living in the house.

Th accounting class I took was really easy since the teacher did all the homework for us lol.

I only have one more chapter left of my marketing class and the final exam and the I'm done with that! My other is about the same too.

You have no idea how bad new airmen are when it comes to money. I had one at McConnell who decided to buy a brand new tundra. He lived in the dorms, ate at the chow hall and was 21. He had a 600-700 dollar a month car payment, 200 dollar a month insurance, 80 a month for cell phone, probably another 200 a month since he liked to eat out. Add in the extra expense of drinking and going out to the bars. He told people that they had to pay him every time he drove them anywhere.

As the lead in my shop, I had to deal with more than you can imagine in the AF alone. You should see the problems these army kids have.

 

yeah when I worked on base as a student civilian employee some SF guys got out of tech school and bought corvettes... needles to say they were on the lemon lot after a couple of months...

I may need to teach a seminar to my Airmen when I get to my base
