I went with Sierra Gear in mine, MIT Drivetrain specialists, local shop did mine. I was only going to re-gear and maybe do locker later on. My wife is the one that said once you are in there just do the locker too, do it right, do it once, you deserve it. I thought that was cool of her so I went for it.

Next day she hit me up for a new ring that was equal value of the gears and locker, I couldn't say no. Sneaky

Ya, I've been trying to plan a fishing trip down deep in Baja in the next month or two. I finally nailed down a date/week and within hours she's got a plane ticket to Oregon to go see a girlfriend for a few days. Cracks me up but hey, it works.

    Check out this: http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html

It can tell you all kinds of info about your rpm at various speeds and such. The 2nd gen 5 spd auto is the Toyota A750F and the 6 spd manual is the Toyota RA60F. Then just add your other info and hit calculate and you with get lots of info. It's not exact just because tires are not exactly their rated size especially if the tread is worn down some as well. If you have any questions about the other info just ask I know most of the numbers off the top of my head now.

I'm running 4.88's and 33's with my auto and love it! Wish I could go to 5.29's for anything bigger though...

With my 4.88's and 255's I'd be doing about 84 mph at 3000 rpm. I run about 2700 rpm at 75 mph on the interstate.

If you're looking for a good bumper/skid paint look into POR15. pAp and PSU Taco 85 use it and really like it.

ECGS did mine. I was too chicken to do my own. haha. Too much precision involved there. Maybe now I would try it, but I now have friends that know what they are doing and have access to some good tools.

also, drove down the highway quick at lunch... at GPS 70mph I turn 2440 RPM and 1740 going 50, so 77mph is about 2700 for me.

Edit: damn, i should have put all those last posts into one. The noob is strong in here at the moment...

Auto > Manual :D Taco ≠ Racecar... haha
Yeah I did the core swap and sent my old ones in. Came to about $2250 for front and rear with ARB locker up front. That includes shipping both ways.
