Complete failure of hydraulic brakes. One brake line rusted out same time as pro portioning valve rusted out. Only the emergency brake worked for stopping. Mechanic says rust is extensive to frame, brake components, and more. Have your Tacoma checked.

Not many miles for an 06. If you do a lot of winter driving I'm betting the Salt is the root cause. I'll climb under my 06 and see what she looks like under there. I'm in Texas so no issue with Salt on the roads down here.

^^This^^ Salt air year round, plus salt on roads in winter plus high humidity during alot of the year will result in extensive rust.

OP did you wash/rinse your frame in the spring at all? I'm in Mass but not near the coast, and everytime I've gone wheeling and in the spring I set up an oscillating sprinkler under my rig and rinse the hell out of it. Then I get under on a creeper in the warmer weather and spray it further in all the nooks and crannies. Famous spot for collecting shit off the road is the front cab mounts, and rear shock perches on the frame.

That's a shit ton of brake line to have to replace!

Yep. Local dealer I go to is about to do a frame replacement on an 05 with 8k miles on it. Guy lives right on the ocean and parks it outside. Mines in pretty good shape but I'm coating the frame soon and I'll be attacking the whole bottom side with fluid film before winter.

Man, my 06 looks damn good, only 59k on it... I just put a coating of fluid film on my frame to keep it looking like new.... And prevent any rust...
