I wish I was closer, that'd actually be a cool tour I'd imagine. I've been through some manufacturing plants in the past, they're usually pretty cool!

    Does Fram own Autolite also?

Kind of makes one wonder about companies who have reps like that...

He is not a rep, he is a technical director. Josh Gordon is the director of marketing and probably wouldn't mind knowing another employee is taking marketing into his own hands. I'll take a wild guess his email is josh.gordon@framgrp.com

    :D

If he is even one... He is not a rep per se, but any employee (until proven otherwise in this case) who makes statements/discusses/promotes their company's products (once again, supposed in this case) is the face of the company, whether that is their intended goal or not. It would be interesting to see if the company feels the same way about the average customer.

I know what you meant, didn't mean to sound like I was proving you wrong. I am sure they would prefer something other than calling forums "teenage wannabe car guys"

Thanks for the offer, but I think if I wanted to learn about filtration, I would go to either Wix or Bosch/Purolator, they have the better reputation in the filtering world. Sorry, but as I stated earlier, with exception to the Extended Guard filter and your Air Filters, your Orange Can and Tough Guard filters are trash. Pass it up to your higher ups and marketing dept, Fram does not offer Bang for the Buck. Try using Metal End Caps and better filtering material, maybe you can win people over. Fram is all marketing and hype. You rely on advertising and places like Iffy Lube, and every other oil change pit stop. I got to admit, there are always big orange walls at major parts stores, but outside of people who work for Fram and 60 year old men, no one recommends Fram.

Perhaps because the design does not REQUIRE end caps?

Maybe Fram could learn something from the Toyota design. It's actually a bit less restrictive.

Gotta' hand it to you for buying out Champion Labs... Their E-core design is more attractive and even cheaper to manufacture than the Fram Orange can.
Now that you own the patent, you can make an even cheaper filter by combining the plastic cage center support core with the cardboard endplates... but I have a feeling that cardboard isn't any cheaper than the fiber Champion uses.
