thats how you have to do it, I tend to lean towards the riskier investments while I am young and can afford to lose my entire retirement

 

i like to keep my retiurement in fairly safe forms. the mutual funds contain the most risk out of my retirement investments, but are still pretty stable. short term investing on the other hand......i'll go nuts. that way if i lose, retirement isn't affected, but if it works, i can just toss the gains into the Roth or a more standard savings acount.

 

Sounds like a good safe method ..

Mine is all stocks, mostly high risk which has worked out pretty good and a few lower risk high dividend boys to bring in some extra cash. I have a decent chunk of change sitting in my account right now waiting to see what's going on with the market. I tried my hand at day traiding with my non retirement account and I am not smart enough nor do I have enough investment up front to make it profitable.

oh, i figured you had tried that already
that's the best way to do it, but it doesn't always work with seized components. the threads on my rotors stripped right out.......hence, swinging the ax.

i'd like to try day trading, but you just need so much time to make it work.

don't knwo squat about those, i'll have to do some research.
