Scoured the owners manual & searched the forums, but can't figure it out.

I listen to audiobooks frequently during my commutes via a wired iPod connected to the head unit. It's maddening trying to figure out where the audiobook left off when a phone call comes in. Anyone know if this is possible?

Hit pause on the ipod before you answer the phone

LOL. It happens! That's what the fourm is here for. Means we are getting older I guess. I was in Target today and had to stop and figure out what I was there to buy at one point. LOL. Glad I could help! :)

i know i'm getting old and senile, but hopefully it's not that bad yet ;) i think you misunderstood me. i realize that could stop it manually- but it's in the glove compartment. i know of other receivers that will pause music automatically when calls come in over bluetooth...

Yeah, but the I-pod is an independent device. Not sure if the receiver can send a signal to the I-pod telling it to pause. Good luck!

A few mods here and there and counting....
I have the Pioneer z3 and whether its ipod, cd, or hdd library, it will only lower the volume during bt phone calls. I don't have a problem with that but i can understand your frustration w an audiobook playing. It maybe a Pioneer thing.

normally yes- but when you plug the iPod to the head unit, the Pioneer takes control leaving the iPod buttons inoperable until you unplug it again. you can pause, play, navigate songs, etc... on the iPod directly from the Pioneer, so i'm hopeful it can pause music when a phone call comes in

looks like it wont work. here's the email from From Pioneer Customer Service:

Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

The phone call will mute the audio, but will not pause it.

    Sincerely,
    Luana
