I broke my front mud flap off right after thinking I should trim those. I was taking off the remainder of the flap and to my surprise I found a huge gouge in my fender flare from rubbing.

I was going to go with husky replacements but Im unsure if they would cover up the oem mud flaps rub marks?

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks Jared

I have the husky mud flaps and I don't have any issues but then again I have a 13' Tacoma :D Just use touch up paint and after it dries use the clear decal that is provided by husky and install the mud flaps.

Took some pics of mine for you.

Front; perfect cover-up. The faint line you see is the protective film.

Rear; meh, probably nothing a heat gun and fitting wouldn't fix.

    Check out the build
I have the same mud flaps and the same gouges on the lower end. They seemed to cover them up well.

I think it's worse with lighter colors.

The original are too long and are way too thin at the point of "flex"... when you run thru snow, etc.... they break.... They are only about 1/16" thick at that "break" point.

Huskys are shorter and look great.... they are also about 1/4" thick at that point....

    Way better flaps than originals...

I have the a set of Huskys ready to go. I'm just waiting to find a solution to the gouge that OP posted.

I got them on mine and the fronts are covered perfectly but the back show at the top a bit I'll have to get some pics up. Otherwise I love them perfect fit.

just had my oem flap rip off. dealer wanted $75 for the passenger side rear flap and $85 for the driver side flap. a set of Husky's for the rear - $45 CDN. can't go wrong.

Yup, I had this same issue. An OEM replacement was $80.00 for one flap. Personally, I don't like the rear OEM flaps with the white 4X4 printed on them. Do you really need to tell the world anything on your flaps? Might as well have chrome naked girls instead. I swapped out all four for the Husky's. Yes, there is a slight visible wear mark but my truck has 100k and it is barely noticeable. The factory flaps are not as good at the Husky flaps. I don't believe the Husky flaps will ever cause paint wear.

i agree. my truck is an 05. there was little scratching if any from the OEM and the huskys fit great. i didn't even bother putting on the scratch guard film they provide as they fit so well.

I am glad you put up the comparison pic between the OEM and Husky. I am on the fence between the two and this definitely leans me towards the Husky's.

Can you explain what you mean about the top showing on the back flaps? Is this on the Husky's? Do you think it's worth considering a different brand for the rear?

First off holy thread revival Batman... I have a second gen so your results may vary. But on the rear fender flares you can still see the rub marks from the factory flaps... Its just the way the husky fit.
