Does anyone know if there is a way to format your usb so it shows up the same format as the ipod, ie song, artist, album. With the usb all i can do is folder up and down, i would like to be able to browse through all my music like the ipod. I like the ipod controls but i don't want to have my ipod in my vehicle all the time, a usb drive is much more practical.

    thanks

This sort of thing usually depends on the stereo. What stereo do you have? I do have a couple thoughts that might help.

On your USB, you could try making a folder for each artist. And then within the artist folder make album folders. Then put the songs in the album folders.

If some songs are missing info try adding that info in iTunes.

Sounds like too much work. Look for a used iPod I'd say and leave it connected.

It only likes one level of folders.

I name folders by artist and put all their songs in there.
