What's wrong with vw, I have an 03 tdi that I bought for 6500 Canadian, has 180,000km on it and get 900k to 45 liters (75% in town 25% highway). Not a single problem with it and it sounds badass straight piped.

03 Jetta sportwagen TDIs have a cult-like following. I was looking for one for a bit and realized the odds of that happening were lower than I had anticipated.

The only issue I could see the the VW truck is how over engineered VW cars are. The VW Passat Convertible has 23 motors to just fold up the roof.

2002 TDI 50 MPG best tank full was 902 miles on 16 gallons of diesel drove it like I stole it would climb hills in 5th that a gas car wouldn't in 4th. Was the most comfortable car I ever owned sold it with 240,000 miles on it and it ran just as strong as the day I bought it. Yeah I would entertain a VW diesel truck.

On diesel I'd ever buy is the 1.9. I'd trade my taco for one if they still had that engine out. Maybe after college I can find a high mileage one for a daily drive

Not yet but it will happen. The question is, would we see it in the States which I highly doubt considering the cost of regular gasoline and the perception by most of america that diesel is a dirty fuel.

I guess if you are too lazy to spell out where you live (North California) then you must have been too lazy to read the whole post.

So leave now and no more questions.
