All-Pro Front Bumper/Winch

Anyone think this combo would be over-kill for 2wd prerunner that does mostly dunes/trails?

 

I would probably spend the money else where if I was a prerunner. Now, if you already have your suspension hooked up, then sure. Better safe then sorry.

I am looking pretty much at two different bumpers, the bajabumpers.com front bumper and the all-pro

 

Anyone got any good pics of the All-Pro bumper? Their website has a very horrible picture of it..

 

I don't think it would be overkill, but you could probably get a locking rear differential for the same price (if you don't already have one). The locking rear diff would be MUCH more helpful than a winch.

 

for looks, go for it...

if you actually think you might need to winch yourself out of a sticky spot, there are better options [read: shrockworks]

 

I feel your pain. I want to do stuff like that strictly for looks. I also hit up trails and avoid the hardcore off-roading that would constitute purchasing a specialized bumper. The reason: My Tacoma is still my daily commuter vehicle. Had it been just a toy or our 3rd car, then yes I would be modding the hell out of it but its not. So the simple stuff and less expensive mods is what Im all about.

Go for it its your truck do what you like. It will look really badass.

 

If you want to get un-stuck get the winch. If you don't want to get stuck in the first place get a locker. Although, if you had one of those "shovel winch anchors" you'd be good in the dunes.

Not too sure about the Allpro, but you might need to beef up the front coils to accomodate the added weight of a winch/bumper combo.

You'll be stoked with any upgrade. Any of the above is a good idea.

 

X3 on the Locker. An All Pro bumper and winch combo will require front suspension upgrades- more $$$. But it really depends on what you will be using the truck for, unless it is just a looks thing...

 

Well I do already have the stock electric rear locker, I have already upgraded to ICON UCA's, and CO's up front, with ICON Reservoirs and Deaver 7-leafs in the rear.. So it isn't mostly a looks thing, I actually use the truck off-road... It is still my daily driver as well.

 

I've heard several people who use the All Pro bumper with a winch say it isn't built very sturdy and that it bends when using the winch.

Another option would be the ARB bumper.

 

Oh, well then, get the winch/bumper. I personally like the ARB bumper but the all-pro is a sweet bumper too.

But wouldn't long travel just suit those for hard core off-roading?

 

Would you still have an all-pro bumper?
