tbh it was all clay, I had to engage my front and rear lockers to gain traction and than disengage the front to steer

the picture realy doesnt do it any help as the grade was quite a bit steeper, it was funny though, once moving i could hardly feel anything behind me :p

Both are on the driver side, both a little bit farther back than drains.

Finally got it tinted! (on Friday) 35% ceramic on the front windows and a clear UV/heat blocker on the windshield. I usually get new vehicles tinted within a week of purchase. Been too busy with real mods and forgot about tinting it!

Sorry! Viewing on my cell while other half is clothes shopping..
Feel my pain and forgive my laziness. Trying to decide between 20 and 35 for my tint. I love 20 but want close match without front being darker from angles.

    no problem! :D
actually, there were no side pics with the truck tinted in my gallery. Wasn't sure if you just wanted to see the truck from a different angle, or you wanted to see the tint from the side. So I snapped that one just for you ;)

I went with 35% because that is the darkest we can legally go. Its a pretty good match color wise, but you can tell its a little lighter than the rear.
Have fun waiting outside the dressing room :D

If the law specs a metered 35%, then you're over by 10%.

The factory tint is about 70%, so to hold to 35%, you could not go darker than 50%. 35% of 70% is 24.5%.

Won't likely be a problem... ANY applied tint on the front is illegal in California and I've never known anyone to get popped with lighter than 20%.

That's a good idea on the clear for the wind shield! Have you done this before? My tint guy does a clear heat blocker on commercial/residential windows. I'm going to have it done on my west windows. I just never thought about it for my wind shield.

I thought the factory front windows were clear? Anyway, this guy has been doing it a long time. He is a personal friend of mine and has tinted many of my cars. It has a lifetime warranty and he if says its legal, then I trust him. I never had a problem with any of my other cars he has tinted. They all passed safety check just fine.

First time for me. So far it seems to make a pretty noticeable difference. We'll see what happens when I go back to work tomorrow. My truck bakes in the sun all day :(
    :edit:
Actually maybe not... a tropical storm is supposed to hit tomorrow.

Like I said, most likely not going to be a problem since you can still see inside the vehicle.

But the factory windows are made with a 70% tint. Want to find out what no tint looks like, check out a mid-70s Toyota or Datsun. They had no tint at all and it was painful on a summer day.

hmm... maybe they compensate for it then. Here in Hawaii, the police don't usually bother (unless you drive a ricer), its the safety inspection stations you have to worry about. If you have tinted windows, they will measure how much light can pass through when you go in for the annual safety check. You have to pay a little more for the inspection if you have tint.

That gun metal looks good. I did mine in dark red but might have to do this instead
