    Most likely, they are charging extra if they actually have to take the time to pull out the meter and confirm that it's legal.
    No tint, or if you are running a 50% that is obviously legal, they won't need the meter.

    Hawaii law has a 35 +- like 6-8% or so for darkness.

    I tinted my fronts at 35 over the factory tint and it passed. The windshield tint is a new approval for the "blue" UV protection.

    A friend's Tacoma had it done and it looked funny if you wore polarized shades, but performed great in sunlight and wouldn't even its there without polarized shades.

    Yup. Block heater is a must up here. Start using it around -15C and it gets down below -40C
    Pissed me off though, used to be routed through the grill and it rubbed the paint right down to the plastic of the bumper.
