Hey Dan I see you posted on FB and got a reply from the dealer. Great start, and good luck! :) Make 'em kiss your a&$! I'm sure most of the dealers, US and Canada, pull this crap! Speaking from experience.

Well shit! I guess I voided my warranty on the first day of getting my Tacoma because I drove it down a gravel, muddy, watery ally way. The dealership is just blowing smoke up your ass. If I were you call Toyota Canada and have them deal with the dealership.

Here's a little update. The facebook guy spoke with the manager but wasn't able to help. He states the nature of my warranty means the wording on my paper work is correct. So dirt and mud does in fact void your warranty. As far as wheel alignment is concerned. Even though this alignment was done wrong the first time I went in, and its only 3 weeks till I was able to make it back asking them to do it correctly. Whatever though, its good now and Ill look elsewhere for future alignments. Since my 1 year is almost up anyways.

Now the other issue of water building up underneath my driver side floor mat. Which they blamed on me driving off road and did the initial repair twice (repair floor plugs). STILL hasn't fixed it, obviously. Because I don't do anything crazy that would cause such a thing. I'm actually happy this time, because I get to call toyota on monday and basically say, SEE I WAS RIGHT!!

They better let me deal with another dealership. I called another local one here who already told me once that they couldn't help because the initial dealer had to finish their repairs. And they're still not willing to take on the task. Not very reassuring. Thankfully there is about 10 dealers around here so Ill find one with some balls I hope.

That sucks. Ive had nothing but good with JP Surrey. Langley was screwing me around on parts so have been going there. If you want to get your alignment done right id suggest going to Dales alignment in surrey, i get all my work done there. Taking your truck up harrison shouldnt get it too dirty and if you wash it off i dont see how they could void your warranty from that.

Should check out North shore toyota, theres a member here thats a tech there.

Hopfully you get that problem fixed.

Im taking my truck to langley to see if they can get these last issues fixed. Turns out the steering wheel alignment is STILL off. Its insane. Im 90% shur its just he steering wheel, I noticed it after they installed the steering wheel dampener. But they took offence to me saying they made a mistake and have never looked at that as the problem. I dont know how to deal with people like that lol.

We'll see how langley is, hopefully more professional. How were they screwing you on parts?

Maybe a copy of the Toyota TV adds of their truck running through the water and mud and saying how tough they are.

There are plenty of photos on the Toyota Canada website that show the truck on non paved roads going "off roading". Not to mention the numerous mentions about off roading and so forth.

Can you call Toyota Canada and file some sort of complaint about the treatment you are getting at the dealership?

I bought my truck from JP Toyota as well. And had a great buying excperiance. The allignment can be thrown of by hitting a bump or pot hole with speed. In my excperiance, Toyota sucks at doing alignments. And the window leak should be covered under warrantee.
West Coast Toyota, in maple ridge, does great work. And excellent customer service!

I call total BS. In the sales brochure, there is 1 photo that has pavement. EVERY other photo, interior or exterior, is on a non paved surface. Yet a muddy or dirty undercarriage voids warranty. Combined with the service manual that states intervals for off road use, one could clearly and imho, correctly, assume that the truck can be used on a gravel road without voiding the warranty, as long as the service interval is followed. Good luck finding a better dealer.

Sheesh. Does Canada have any Competition Laws? I know the US and the EU do.

This is why I love wheeling with the owners of the dealership. My warranty work never gets turned down. It's too bad it expires in only 3k miles

Funny. When we bought our FJ, the dealership held an offroad event in the dealers field which included a hill climb, a deep and long mud pit and a field run through tall grass. Even lifted trucks (FJ40s, 80s solid axle Toys etc.) got stuck in the mud pit because it was pretty hard core. This was hosted by the dealer and advertised by the dealer. Can you imagine if Toyota Motors said it voided warranty? It doesnt, take your truck to a dealer who isnt a fucktard.

We should unleash the fury of TacomaWorld on their website in support of our fellow man. Dozens of negative comments and/or ratings will stop this practice.

Best I ever saw was a rented Chrysler 300 come down to Hale Creek at Harrison from the West Harrison FSR. RENTED! He was upset his friends didn't' wait for him to get off work. Significant scratches and dents to body, plus major damage to undercarriage.

What the hell he made it down there in a 300  When we went down my truck and our buddies 1997 Tacoma both turned into a tripod at a few points lol.

It sounds like they are just trying to get out of fixing their fuck ups.
