Been out of the RC stuff for months now with work being insane, but I constantly have the itch to tinker with stuff and just drive/fly something.

Off to Amazon and YouTube I went. Came across the Syma S107G. $18 with free shipping...uh...yes. It's behind me charging right now.

I've always loved the micro helis and these seem to have come a long way from the days I was using the Interactive Toys Micro Mosquito or hitting up Target to get the Air Hogs Havoc Helis (which are $15 more than this thing).

Metal body, 180mAh LiPo...not too bad. They also have a $5 240mAh LiPo I might get just to tinker.

Anyway...I'll post up about it after I take it for its' maiden flight in my man cave. :D

Initial impressions...the heli itself is fantastic. Very high quality and surprisingly balanced for a $20 heli.

The remote...wel...it is complete SHIT. The battery compartment is either loose on mine or this is how it always is, but the wrong move with the remote and you lose everything. Luckily it never happened while I was flying. Take the batter door off, jiggle the batteries around and push on them a little and you're back in business.

I will likely be returning it after I play with it some more. :D

It's been years since I've flown a heli, and I was able to fly this thing down our hallway, into our living room, past an A/C vent (that was tough) and back down into the man cave. Landing was a little rough but only because the landing spot I chose was directly in the path of another air vent.

It's already charging back up and I'll be going again.

Anybody run the HPI thunderbolt motor in there 1/10 truck. My ECX torment has a Dynamite 15t in it now, wondering if different motor might help it along a little better. Or if there may be a better motor for a good price. Im running Venom 3300 NimH 7.2v 6 cell battery and that alone helped a bunch over the Dynamite 1800.

Can the Torment run LiPo off the shelf, or can the ESC not handle it?

It can but you have to be very careful because there is no low voltage cutoff. Well there is but its my understanding that it is way to low and can damage your battery. It really needs a LVA and the charger that comes with it doesnt charge lipo. But it can also run 8.4 7 cell Nimh.

Well as hard as i tend to run this poor truck and as hot as it is here in Texas i figured a little air to the motor and ESC could only help it run cooler, should make it glide a little better on the jumps too. So i decided to cut my side windows out and i took mesh sheetrock joint tape and painted it black, then super glued it on the inside to make window nets.[IMG][IMG]

well i found out i most likely need a new servo.. nobody can explain to me why my truck pulls to the right even after i keep adjusting the steering trim.

i replaced the servo horn and tightened up all the screw associated with the servo. unles for some reason it is my radio... im not sure and i am at a loss

try relocating the horn on the splined output. check arms or tie rods for bends and damage aswell.

tie rod arms are good i set the new horn as close to center as it would go..

another thing i noticed tonight is when i reverse the right wheel wobbles? seems like it is off balance

if it still pulls right, change the trim, if your trim is maxed, you need to adjust the horn more. (angle it off center)

did you do any changes to it? for example toe in/out, camber, any at all? maybe you hit something and it mest up its alignment? run it on a block in the air see how straight the wheels point, turn it left/right see what it does.
    and check your wheel nuts

might be loose wheel nuts, or some just have some play and its just normal.
