I am pretty sure Sunrise Toyota here in Abbotsford arent owned by JP.

I have nothing but good things to say about their service center. The salespeople on the other hand... Morons.

    Deal with Langley Toyota,
I bought a used Tacoma (11) and I noticed the fan was squeaking so I took it in, they noticed I had some bubbling on my rims, booked me back in 3 weeks and gave me a car for the week, my rims look awesome now, the fan was fixed in 3 hours, they are awesome to deal with, I absolutely dislike dealers and cringe thinking about warranty, Mark sure turned my opinions around, was great to deal with,
go see Mark Dohm in service.

Yes... it was quite surprising to see him emerge on the beach. He took the "easier" of the two routes down, but still don't know how he managed to get through the creek.

Another time, when headed up the hill I came across a Ford Escort headed down and warned him off as a Forest Ranger in a Dodge p/u also showed up. He just shook his head in disbelief.

After reading this, just be glad you don't work "in the woods"!
Guess you can't buy a new Toyota and drive the unpaved logging roads to the jobsite, because it may get mud on it and void the warranty. HA!
    Sounds like BS to me!!!

Water pooling under the front floor mat could be from a defective rear window seal. I had the same problem on my 2010. Rear window seal was installed wrong from the factory and would not let the water run out the drain holes on the outside of the cab. Instead it was running inside the back of the cab, along the door edge and then pooling under the floor mat. Dealership found it, replaced all the carpet and installed a new rear window seal under warranty.

Here in the US. You can Lemmon Law a vehicle back to the dealer. I have done this on a Jeep Liberty Diesel that was in the shop too much for the same reason. I think that the law states that if you have to go back for the same thing more than three times you can invoke the Lemmon Law. That may be why your stealership is telling you that you can come bace after the third time.

This law is very strong and Chrysler settled with me four days before the hearing was to take place. It's actually an arbitration. They had to pay me for the price of the vehicle and all extras that I bought for it and the full retail for the truck that I traded in.

There's no lemon laws in Canada like that at all. The consumer loses.

Any update on this DannyD? The 2013 Tacoma brochure has 0 (zero) photos of a Tacoma on pavement, all are on dirt, mud or gravel surfaces. Canada does have a Canadian Code of Advertising Standards, of which, the first line of the standard is:

1.(a) Advertisements must not contain inaccurate, deceptive or otherwise misleading claims, statements, illustrations or representations, either direct or implied, with regard to any identified or identifiable product(s) or service(s).

Assuming the brochure can be considered advertising material, Toyota would be violating the code by misleading consumers to believe the vehicle they purchased could be used in a manner suggested in the brochure.

Link here, and how to file a complaint.

Just throwing my info/opinion in here on this. Personally I think the OP was treated poorly all around here, but I will interject some information to hopefully make some understanding behind certain points.

I feel for you wanting to go to another dealership. However you should know that it is against corporate policy for another dealership to get involved in a warranty repair that has been initiated by a dealership without written approval by corporate. If that other dealership even wrote a work order in reference to your truck and the specific concerns already addressed and in dispute, then Toyota corporate has the authority to deny that claim, meaning the other dealership would have to eat the ENTIRE cost of said repair, AND, at corporate option, pull the second dealership's franchise license. So yeah, I don't blame the other dealership from wanting to not get involved without prior approval.

A very fine line to walk there. Get too loud or too obnoxious and the dealership can, within their rights, call the police and have to OP escorted from the premises, and told not to return. Be very careful how loud you get when trying to argue a point with a manager or advisor. I have literally SEEN with my own eyes customers being escorted off the dealership premises in handcuffs.

First bold statement, and in reference to a lot of the comments on warranty and off-road driving: Yes, they advertise these trucks as off-road worthy, etc, etc, etc.... BUT they can still state in their warranty policy that if you DO take it off-road and in THEIR eyes "abuse" the vehicle, your warranty repairs can be denied. Yeah, it sucks, but TECHNICALLY it is still legal.

second bold statement above, review what I said earlier about corporate rules regarding taking over a repair initiated by another dealership.

Unfortunately Canada does not have a lemon law like we have here in the US. That being said, if the manufacturer has a repair order that states "abuse has voided warranty" Then the lemon law will not help you at all, even here in the US.

I had my stock Sport wheels replaced under warranty due to bubbling

Now I'm out of warranty and the new ones are bubbling

Some wheels, due to the metal they are made from, will corrode from salt. I had this happen to the mag wheels on my boat trailer. The trailer company replaced them once and it eventually happened again. The second time they would not replace but gave me new galvanized wheels at their cost. Magnesium does not hold up under salty conditions. I wonder if your roads are salted in the winter. I live in Florida and there is salt water all around but unless you back your vehicle into the water to launch a boat, no one has corrosion on their mag wheels. The wheels on boat trailers is another matter.

If you know a lawyer I would ask him or her for advise. As far as being locked into one dealership for all your service, that is BS. What if you move or are traveling? I realize that you have socialized medicine up there but I don't think all of your freedoms have been taken away yet.
