Jake the ar tolerances shouldn't be so tight that you have you rack the charging handle. Sounds more like a gas problem being undergassed.

AR's are like Legos so everything should fit just fine. If not then we got bad manufacturing goin on.

Ehh no matter it's pretty straight forward if you want I could always bring my AR over and show you a little bit. I'm no expert but I know my way around ar a little

 

It might have been the ammo, I was shooting some bulk reloads of 5.56 in a 223 wylde chamber so that might have caused a issue to.

Jeff, building your own is very easy, well the lower is, I haven't built a upper yet but that's my next project after I get a m&p 40.

 

Well, I know the first step is to buy a lower. I've been keeping my eyes open...I keep seeing some popping up at Discount Gun Mart, ranging anywhere from $90 to $300. I don't really even know exactly which one to buy lol. Although most guys I've talked to tell me go with metal, not plastic.

 

Don't matter really on brand as far as lowers go just pick a logo you like.

Uppers you don't wanna skimp since that's where the magic happens.

Yup, my current lower is gonna be my only store bought lower, and I'm only keeping it so I can legally SBR and suppress it.

If you want to be even more badass convert it to piston operation. Not so cheap though..

As far as bulk reload ammo in a brand new weapon your gonna have failures from time to time, not every round though.

The only time I have seen tons of misfires/jams is with steel cased ammo, it expands not allowing the ejector to function causing a complete jam or a stovepipe.

Make sure your gun is assembled properly make sure all the pins in the trigger/lower are all good and the springs are properly clocked.

The Aries armor lower is an 80% so it needs further machining, however they sell the jig to do it.
