shit dude. i bet you can sell that for 3-500 bucks. might make some money on it if someone's rear end blows or they are doing a swap.

but as we said, that is the 8" ring gear. you need the non e locker one with the 8.4"

So what are my options if i do want an e locker. Also when you purchase a 3rd member that comes with the front diff housing right?
    So should I look for a 2006+ 4.0L with 4.10 or a prerunner with 4.10?

both prerunner and 4wd will have the same rear housing.
if you want a elocker then you need a whole axle assembly with axles and all. also you will need a wiring harness to hook the locker up.
So what you need to look at is any truck that has a 8.4 inch ring gear such as a prerunner or 4wd without the electronic locker

Since I'm 5 lug then to make the rums fit I'd need to find 6 lug rims as well?

yea so basically you would have 5 lug front and 6 lug rear. dont do it. if you want a selectable locker go with a ARB air locker or a detroit true trac for a limited slip locker. or just use a spoil locker that is engaged all the time

hey friend, hope this clarify your concern. i don't have a 2nd Gen.Yota
but for my understanding, if you have en elocker your ring diameter is 8.0"
if you don't have en elocker your ring diameter is 8.4". get any gear sizes you want make sure the ring diameter fit in side the 3rd member.

    I can't imagine Toyo using an 8.4" in a 2006 2wd 5-lug. My '96 2wd 5-lug has a 7.5". Did they go to 8.4" in 2nd gen 5-luggers?

This is where I got out of this early on. As far as I knew, my 2008 is an 8" ifs, 8.4" rear. I also thought the gen 2 all had 8.4" except the 8" elocker. all different than gen 1 norms.

gen 1 and gen 2 is two completely different things buddy. that is apples and oranges. The added power in the second gens they moved to a bigger axle. why make three axles when they only need to make two. I believe from everything i am reading it is 8.4" for all except the elocker housing is 8" because of the solenoid that is added onto the 3rd member.
