Some type of pry bar propped under either side of the UCA mount on the coil bucket. Run the bar over the UCA and push down.

Loosen the LCA's & let'em swing down, piece of cake, you have to align anyway afterwards

aint hard at all i have done it hundreds of times you can use either method stated above. i prefer the pry bar method because then you dont need to loosen and retighten the bolts. but if you are a small dude then 4WD method will work best for you

Why are you trying to separate the LCA and spindle?

Disconnect the way bar. Install the top of the coilover assembly. Push down on the LCA. Install the lower coilover bolt. Reconnect the sway bar.

Did you loosen the LCA to frame bolts? Try to mark where the adjusters are so you can get them back close. You will still need an alignment afterwards.

So you took off 4 bolts holding lower ball joint to spindle & it didn't just fall away ? It isn't welded to spindle correct ?

Yeah thats why I told him to loosen the LCA, make it so much easier & he has to align anyway so....:notsure:

How come nobody disconnects the lower ball joint from the spindle? It worked great on my 95 and I just recently did it with my 2011. The LCA swings as far down as you need it to get the lower strut bolt in, then use a floor jack to push the LCA back into place and reinstall the two ball joint assembly bolts.

Dunno, after years of ripping apart the front end by myself it's just always been really easy once the idea finally occurred to me. On the Gen 1 the ball joint assembly even has little raised lips that ensure its alignment back onto the spindle is perfect.

I didn't have to on my 1st gen. I will probably try it on my 4Runner though.

The first lift I installed on the 95 was a combination spacer and top plate spacer. Tried using a tanker bar to get the LCA down low enough. Had to call my brother to stand on it as I slid in the bolt.

Obviously it was much simpler with the adjustable coilovers I put in after that.

And I just added top plate spacers to my OME setup, and had to use the same trick to get the LCA down far enough.

alright took the 4 bolts off got the lca down and it wont go down far enough to get the bolt in still haha. I thought i was suppose to take the one bolt off the ball joint then pop them loose to get it down my bad on that part.
