    Hey Guys,

I just installed the OME lift this past weekend with 2.5" lift in the front and 1.5" lift in the back.

I am running FJ Anthracite 16" rims with 4.5" back spacing and Stock UCA's. I just got 285/75/16 BFG AT Tires after researching through threads on this forum from people that had the same set up with no rub and only minor plastic trimming.

I trimmed off the plastic that was rubbing, but it looks like I am rubbing very slightly on my UCA's only when going reverse in full lock.

My alignment numbers for the front were:

    Driver Side Passenger Side
    Camber 0.6 0.5
    Castor 1.8 1.2
    Toe 0.06 0.04

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing the rub or any solutions to how to eliminate it? Would extra lift or new UCA resolve this issue?

What are the drawbacks of not doing anything and allowing the minor rub?

    Thanks in advance!

    Jason

I run 285's on 16 inch rims and I did rub in reverse but it was the inner plastic in the wheel well.. Are you sure it's UCA?? I would recommend getting an alignment done which may fix the problem or go with wheel spacers.

from what ive researched, 4.5" back spacing is to high. It should be closer to 3". I think some spacers will do you some good and fix the rubbing issue

Sounds like you need wheel spacers.

For sure its the UCA, I trimmed all the plastic already. Its a very small area on the UCA that only rubs when backing up in full lock.

What size spacers are recommended? Will that start to affect the turning of the tires and cause rubbing on the cab mount or more plastic?

Weird -- I did a lot of research on the wheel and tire sizes and followed the same builds as many who were running the FJ anthracites and 285s that had no rubbing except for minor plastic.

that is weird.. sometimes if you do an alignment they will play wiht your tow and camber which will offset the wheel from rubbing.. I personally don't run spacers but I believe they're typically 1.5 inch spacers.. I had spacers on my old rig and it's didnt' effect anything.

Most popular are 1.25" spidertraxx spacers.

A factory Toyota wheel will usually cause the tire to rub the uca when you go up to a 285 or similar. Spidertrax spacers are the best remedy.

What everyone else said and keep in mind that every lifted truck is different so regardless of how much research you did you still might have some unexpected rubbage (yes, I made up a word).

Would LR UCA's be narrower in profile to eliminate this rub? The rub I have is about a .25 inch x .25 inch area on the stock UCA.
