my truck is an 08. i've owned it for 14 months now and have 20k miles on it. it has way too much rust for being so new.my 02 had 125k miles on it and you could have eating off the frame. i dont off road any of my daily drivers. i dont live by the ocean.i'm probally going to sell or trade it. is this something toyota will help with? any info would be helpful.im far from a anal retard but its only has 20k miles on it. sorry for the crappy cell phone pics
anyone else have a serious rust issue? i should have did another poll cuz you guys loves the polls.:D

See my pics. 5 upstate winters on mine, comparing to other trucks around the same age, I'd say Taco frame rusts about 20% more than others. I plan on keeping mine 10+ yrs. So I undercoated the frame last fall myself. Looks much better, and held pretty good last winter. Otherwise a 5 yrs w/ no issues, I cant see why a little rust should have you thinking trade in.

You might be able to complain to dealer for a free undercoat, but any place they salt the road... it pretty much nulls any basis for complaint, all cars will rust.

14 months old and it looks that bad.i could have bought a ford if i wanted that kind of rust.it wont last 10 years at this rate.i feel i shouldnt have to undercoat a brand new truck. im going to stop by the dealer and see what line of shit they tell me.

That was why I got the truck (after I got the Leafspring TSB) undercoated and warrantied for 5years. I agree that older Yotas don't take the rust too well, not sure why the newer ones would be any worse than other OEMs. Perhaps they save some $$ by not ionizing the frame before painting it (or use some cheap arse paint)?

Anyways I can see how your pissed off.

OMG, you got the 'red x' disease on your truck. I think there may be a TSB for that.

    check this sig :) LOL!

I hope you got some sort of undercoating package with your truck or that maybe your problem. My truck is an 07, 60k miles already, been through two very salty winters and my frame is still black.

The only place I'm worried about rust building up is around the A/C drain.
