I was going by what PIAA listed. Looks to me like all the 510 models use the same bulb. Its the lenses and housings that vary.

Okay here you go.

So there are two screw on each side that unscrew with easy



Then you just pull the light apart and out it comes and then two small little bracket looking pieces fall out. Look like this




These are like the nut for the screws?! Seriously! Wtf. It gets worse..NOTHING holds them in. They just lay in there like so



Probably gonna use superglue to make them stay where they are suppose too. Stupid.

The bulb itself is very easy to swap out tho.

Oh it's so nice to have full stereo again holy tits. Drove me bonkers.

And ya..idk haha magnets maybe.. Oh well superglue worked. Haha

Also for those that don't already know. I tore my interior wiring apart again. Including all the power wires for the lights and amps, CB whatever haha and re tucked it and cleaned it up a bunch while in the process of fixing my speakers.

Used an old keg haha put a valve stem end on the charge hose so either my small air compressor or my co2 can charge it. Pump seems to work fine tho. Out comes the water! It's awesome. Put a pot of boiling water in there and viola!! Hot shower

Gonna go get a sink washer head for the shower head.

Monte, you are the master of 1st gens so i'd like to ask you a question, i've had one person tell me that a 01-04 DC manual 4x4 combo was a special order, so it's rare, another person told me they don't exist, which one is it?

also, if i bought a 01-04 taco DC 4x4with a auto , could i swap in a manual trans easily?

 

please please PLEASE don't feed his already inflated ego

 

Toyota didn't send the DC's out in manuals.. Sad situation really haha.
Manual trannys ftw.
And could you swap in manual tranny? Yes. Easily? Not really.
Edit: I just reread your post, idk about special ordering them like that was an option.. I need to go to bed haha.

i couldn't just drop the auto out and swap in a manual? i'd imagine the t-cases are the same, are the driveshafts different?
eventually i want SC'd and a manual trans to go with it.

 

No factory option was available for DC with a manual.

You can swap. But it's not just a unbolt and reboot process. You have to install master cylinder, slave cylinder and pedal naturally and cut out the tunnel a tad.

That's all pretty easy tho

The hard part is you have to swap ecus from a 4x4 auto to a 4x4 manual. And you either have to hack up and rewire your engine harness or install a new one for manual.

Is it possible? Hell ya.

I actually like the auto in our trucks..does a good job. But ya not as fun for sure.

 

i'm definitely getting a DC, and a extra cab with a bobbed bed seems to be a decent setup.

i love the manual in my current truck, there's nothing like working the clutch and the shifter, it's addicting.
