    Hey guys -

I bought a set of Steelcraft Tail Light Guards (http://www.carid.com/2005-toyota-tacoma-grill-guards/steelcraft-tail-light-guards-868224.html)

And have been trying to install them for about 2 days now. The issue is, the guards are not flush to the lights, so it is near impossible to install. No matter how much I try and bend the tabs, It will not fit tightly.

Has anyone ever tried adding them? Any suggestions? Would a dealer be able to install them better than I?

i used to have some of these on my old F150. they will leave a gap in between your tail light and truck, to accommodate the tabs. The tail lights wont sit flush back into the spot, because of the tabs. don't try to force it or you may damage the edges of your tail light. if you are hell bent on this, maybe try to dremel where the tabs and light touch so it will sit flush.

try to give us a pic so we can see what you are dealing with

Don't think they're suppose to fit flush. Do the tabs screw on without it being flush?

The whole unit does not pop back into the cutout, that's the issue. The guards extend outward (which is what I want), but i can't snap the light's pop in pieces together.

Here is what I mean by the light's pop in pieces

I bought a pair from them last year for my 12, but stainless. Took 20 min to install. The pic you provided does not look like for taco lol
