Had coffee in PO park this am and watched two people get soaked by the fountain. They were hanging out talking when it started automatically. Sorry but it was funny as hell

Zero fucks are given about "pretty wheels".

Minimalist shoes brother. Changed my world completely. I've been running 3x a week for the last 15 years, I'm not blowing smoke up your ass.

Honestly I did it to try and get the ride smoother but it seems to ride a bit firmer. The rear was done shortly after and it seems to be firmer but it bucks less when hitting large bumps, if that makes any sense. Kinda hard to describe.
All in all if you have the Billy's just keep them. Not nearly enough benefits to the OME to spend the money. If you're doing the whole thing for the first time then the OME might be worth it because they are designed to work specifically with their springs.

Yeah... you can keep those minimalist shoes, they hurt to run in unless you can completely change the way you run. I have a set of those Nike Frees and I can't run more than a mile in them. I'll take a good set of cross trainers any day. My favorites I run in now are a set of Adidas Trail Response shoes, before that were Mizunos but they got donated after the Tough Mudder.

They won't make you ghey, they'll make your tendon and joint pain go away, as well as eliminate all of that impact traveling up your spine.

Not yet, dunno if I want to linex them or just hit them with some rusto and call it good.

I'm a Mizuno waverunner 6 type of guy, and this summer I've put almost all of my mileage on my vibrams. A few weeks ago I did 5 miles in them. I occasionally switch back and forth because my fitness test has to be run in traditional sneakers. The only "hurt" I get is my sore as hell calf muscles, but that's because they are taking all of the abuse.

If you're a runner it's easy to shorten your stride, which is the biggest change you need to make. The secret is rebuilding all of the muscles in your calf which never get used in traditional sneakers, which takes time. A lot of people start out too aggressive, then hurt themselves, or cant walk the next few days.

Interesting, thanks. I am going the same route as you in the back with Chevy springs. Just have to get around to disassembling and adding them to my stock springs. They are sitting in a pile along with my sliders in my garage:eek:Up front I'll likely go with OME shocks/ springs. I think the bilsteins and eibachs may be too much for a 4cyl with no extra weight up front. Still undecided for the shocks in the back though. Either way I want to relocate the upper shock mount points.

You mean the like bare foot ones or whatever they are called? Aren't they strange to run in? I've read mixed reviews, but most reviews seem to be positive. I was mainly considering them to see if they helped with my hip flexors. They always kill me even after stretching when running on pavement.

I loved my old Mizunos, can't remember which number they were. The new ones just don't fit me well.

That's the problem, I'm not a 'runner'. I run to stay in shape for other things and prefer to run on trails but will run pavement as a last resort. I'm sure I have horrible form, my pace is inconsistant and I get bored easily. Most of my running is sprint, jog, repeat or hill climb repeats. I only run to stay in shape for soccer :)

I fucking hate running. As long as I can do 1.5 miles in 12:53 I'm good.

Seth, you can do Billys with the OME springs too. Saves a few bucks and the spring rates are a bit lower than eibach's. Might ride a little better. :)

After all this suspension shit, the thing that gave me the biggest difference in ride quality was tire pressure, believe it or not...

I use the vibram 5-fingers toe shoe. They aren't strange at all. Instead of stretching out your stride and impacting on your heel (which your body isn't designed to do) you shorten your stride to more of an "airborne shuffle". You can still go fast, but all of the impact and thrust is accomplished off the ball of the foot and the toes.

Sounds like you got a bad fit. Go to a store specifically for runners. In town we have "The Runners Alley", they analyze your stride and your foot and put you in the right shoe. Hell, they let me test drive my first ever pair of Mizunos around the block.

I love my toe shoes trail running. They feel way more stable on inconsistent ground. Dude, if you play soccer you are a runner, just maybe in denial :)

Which setups have you had over the years? And are you running LT tires?

I've noticed that the Billys seem to ride a bit stiffer as they age. I've seen a few others make similar comments also. It's not bad, they still do their job well enough, but they do seem to stiffen up with age.

Right now I have 5100's set to 2.5" with stock off road coils. Honestly, I think it rides better than my RC with 884x's on ome struts... My rear set up is perfect with wheelers 3 leafs and fox piggybacks, the only thing I'm interested in is Eibach coils, and some UCA's, but I'm happy with how it is right now. My alignment is all green so that's good...

I keep saying I have to get a pair and try them but the price tag keeps me away. That is a lot of money to try something

Curious, why do you want Eibach coils? You'd have to preload them to get the same amount of lift that you're getting now with OEM coils on 5100's. The OME 885's would get you to the same lift without preload and have a lower spring rate so they should ride a bit softer. Eibachs are stiff, I can't imagine preloading them.
