i tow the rhino and an atv a lot on a 12x7’ tandem axle trailer, and it does fine at 70 or 75 even with 4% grades comes in at 3000 to maybe 3500, i don’t know exact weight of trailer.

Finally a pic of the teardrop I built, when I had the 93, that now follows my Tacoma.

This is the best at this point. perhaps more after August as I have several days off, and am planning a longer trip.

Did you use plans when you built it?

Kind of, I started roughly based on a 4 foot wide version of These (PDF), from a Teardrop forum, adding and subtracting things to make it to my liking.

They were amazing! I'm thinking though that I'm gonna up to 886s and put the top overload back in and get the Dakar AAL and get 285s hopefully by the end of the year. Your truck is sick!

I tow a 18 foot ski boat from North Carolina to Washington state over 2600 miles and the weight was 3100# and my tacoma did awsome yea it was slow up the mountains and plus got stuck in the snow cause I did it in Febuary. If you know what you limitations are and have the right gear you will be fine towing I also tow a 26" Travel trailer 4200# dry and 5500# wet. I have trailer brakes for the travel trailer but none for the boat. I will post pictures when i get back from deployment

22 Foot travel trailer, that I rented from the base. They said that it weighs 3800lbs, but I'd be interested to see it on a scale.

Towing it was pretty miserable, I drove from Layton, Utah to Salida, Colorado. I climbed Monarch pass on Hwy 50, which tops out at a bit under 11000 feet. I spent much of Monarch pass in 2nd gear (automatic)

I only put it in 'D' a couple of times, when going down fairly steep inclines. The wind resistance on this beast was brutal.

I had to mess with the pictures so you could see the fender gaps. The truck has Wheeler's HD springs with a leaf removed and Icon VS shocks, as well as Icon c/o in the front.

    Loaded with WD bars attached:

Here's a link to the album if the photos don't show up. Since Google started that Google+ junk, Picasaweb is pretty much unusable for me.

23' trailer (3800 lbs empty) 96 sportster 1200 (550 lbs) plus camping gear (700lbs) plus 3 passengers (550 lbs) through Canadian Rockies. Towed pretty damn good. Even accelerates up most hills. Gas mileage was awful though. Still love my taco!!! Who needs a V8? Not me!!!

You're right gas mileage sucks as a result i bring some with me now just in case. Mine does fairly well but have been toying with the idea of getting a full size but don't want to part with my taco! I've weighed at the scale loaded and i came in about 4500lbs.

I hear you guys about the gas mileage!. But I think we tend to forget that wind resistance is our biggest enemy. I have a TT that weighs in at roughly 4000 dry, but I have I have to tell you guys. I have towed a Popup trailer that weighed the same as my TT, taking the same route, and to the same campground. The gas mileage wasn't that bad actually. I'm chalking it up to wind resistance that kills us. Maybe this doesn't apply to hills, but I think that any vehicle V6 or V8 is going to suffer.

x2. I tow atv’s and rhino some about 45 or 50 miles round trip, mostly highway, and i use like 1/8 of a tank to maybe a 1/4 at the most. only think that sticks up higher then the truck is the roll bars on the rhino. also stop and go gills it, i have towed just the rhino, had 3 people in the truck, and towed about 100 miles round trip and use like a full tank of gas, lots of top and go and curves to slow down for, i used 3x as much as i normally do towing the same load on mostly highway.
