x2, that's exactly the reason I've hardly riden mine since I found out Kendra was pregnant. I think i've only put about 100 miles on it this whole year. :(

Reasons like that are why I will never buy a bike as much as I've always wanted one, plus Linda calls them "donor-cycles". The other idiots on the road..plus if I was going to spend the money on a seasonal ride I'd buy an older car we could both have fun with. Some day..

Charge the battery . Put it back in and if its stil dying on you . It's most likely not the battery . It would be the Voltage Regulator/Rectifier . It's on the right side of the frame . It's a plug and play . You don't need to be at hwy rpms to charge the battery . Idle is fine .

She will get on it someday. It is just inevitable. Lisa was hit by a car when she was a kid and will not ride a bike nevermind a motorcyle. I had her on all of mine once or twice but she hated it. She just had to try

Alex is it a sealed battery? Can you check the levels and maybe check the cells with a hydrometer

What greased the slip yoke? I did. You're supposed to do it every 10k miles. That is the perp that is responsible for the "thud" or "extra downshift" when you come to a stop. It's gotta be greased just like the u joints and everything else. I grease it with M1 synthetic grease every 5k miles when I do my oil changes just for good measure... :)

That fucking truck doesn't want for anything. My wife gets jealous lol...

So you're saying that at 90k miles, I probably should have greased it by now, huh? :anonymous:

Do you know the torque spec for the drive shaft bolts? I'm assuming you remove it at the rear pinion and slide the back part of the shaft off to grease it, correct?

Correct, and I do not know the torque #. I just do 90 ft/lbs and don't even use my torque wrench anymore, cuz it's a bitch to get in there. I just use the breaker bar and get it nice and tight, it ain't going anywhere. Also, you don't have to worry about marking the driveshaft because the joint has a "double tooth" and will only go back together one way. I'll share a secret..... Put the truck in neutral with the e-brake on and shut it off. That takes all the pressure off the driveline so you can turn it to match up the bolt holes. I didn't know this the first time and it fucking took me all day to figure out how I was going to line up the holes. As soon as you take the DS off, the flange on the rear axle will rotate a couple degrees...

Thanks for the tips, might have to get after this over the weekend. Truck has been neglected over the last few months because I've been crazy busy. This weekend she's getting some much needed TLC and a full detail inside and out.
