    Lisa likes her plans.

She did have her part planed and was set and ready though before mike and Ben. Their only job is to meet Lisa on Morrison. Which they are doing...so I'm not sure what the problem is either.

Mike and Ben. There is no way you'll be able to get all the way into morriosn and settled in before dark by also hitting all the side roads. You'll probably only have time for 1-2 if that. Unless you two pulled your panties outa your ass cracks suddenly and decided night wheeling was cool..haha :p

Night wheeling IS fun! I had a blast on my last trip. Deff changed the dynamic of the trail when you can't see big the cliff is off to the right.

I sill want to do night wheeling brah.

Lisa, just stick with your original plan. The road into Morrison is easy and obvious. Put a streamer up at the trail head. they'll find their way. Last time I was up there (the 14th) road construction was starting on the highway right at the turn out for Upper Morrison. Dont change your plans for a babysitting gig. Sheesh. Everyone driving is an adult. Or legally should be.

I am easy on this. I can leave anytime Saturday or Sunday. I can meet anywhere on the North side of Beartooths/Red Lodge with any one who needs meeting with (as long as it starts with a beer at Red Lodge Ales :D ) and I can also put anyone up at our home one night before the trip as long as they are housebroken. :poking: If not, they can park in our driveway.

Lisa, I am making Gluten free waffles for Fuck sake.

    Exactly.

You may have to get in touch with Zane..or maybe he will just find Morrison on Sunday himself. Idk.

I think Lisa just doesn't like how out of her control stuff is :p she doesnt like loosey goosey planning like I do haha

To bad. Only place and time I can think of doing a real night run is in lander after Christina. There are two more big trails by it. But you'll be gone..

Yea like I said in the OP between everyone we should be pretty well off

Yes, I will be the first one there. I figure that I would be at the Morrison trailhead by 1pm sunday. If Mike and Ben do all the crap they want to I don't see them showing up before 4pm.
You try to convince them that driving for 12 hours isn't going to happen, they won't listen to me.

And I come to these meets to see places that I normally wouldn't go to alone....not sit on my ass waiting for people to show up.
My original plan would have been to drive from Belgrade to Red Lodge, meet up with whoever, hit up the roads at the north end of Beartooth and camp out Saturday night. That would be about 6 or 7 hours of driving, depending on the number of stops we make.
On Sunday we would go over the Beartooth and go on Morrison to the top/south end, camp out and wait for you guys. I was figuring 5 or 6 hours for this.
Two days = 11 to 13 hours of driving. Nice and relaxed, you get to actually enjoy the trip and not be rushed to get from point A to point B.
Ben and Mike want to do all of that in one day PLUS they'll be starting in Butte so that adds another hour and a half of driving. SO their Sunday will be over 12 hours of driving.

Yes, the plan was, I thought, for them to meet me on Morrison and do the trail together. But they want to dick around on the side roads while my group waits at the top. By the time they get there the mosquitos will have had a field day with us!

So you drove the Morrison two weeks ago? The last reliable trip report that I have from the trail was that there were some sketchy areas and that was 2 years ago. I think we all need to stick together to get through it.
And its not babysitting - the point of these trips is that go do it TOGETHER but Ben and Mike want to go do their own thing, forget about everyone else.

You promised me GF pancakes last year too and you didn't even show up to the meet!

Ill handle Ben and mike. They will be there when they get there. Cause really..even if they are there at 1 you'll only have 30 mins to an hour of trail time on Morrison I bet..so you'll be just sitting there the rest of the day anyways.

You don't have to wait for them at the trail head. They are smart and have maps. They know when to turn off. You should just take your small group down Morrison as far as you want to find a large camping area and setup camp. They will come down the road and find you. You don't have to sit at the trail head.

You are NOT driving to the switchbacks on Sunday! The trail still is "sketchy" before the switch backs. I figured you would camp so,e where in the big open meadows on morriosn. Wake up Monday and drive the harder part to the top of the switchbacks(the main ones. There a few you'll have to come down to see us do the main ones).

This makes sense to me as we have to drive to the switchbacks which takes about 40mins or longer with photos probably. We won't start up them till we pick you all up on CB at least.

    Does that make sense?

Drive down part of morriosn to a camp spot. Set up camp. Wait for Ben and mike to find you. Have a good campfire. Wake up. Drive to the switch backs.

    Okay?

I didnt say I drove the Morrison on the 14th. I drove the road up to the entrance to upper Morrison. The gate was closed. They dont open it til the 15th. I have not done the upper part in a bout 4 or 5 years.
I did promise pancakes to you and you are right I did not show up. It is very hard to get pancakes to you when I dont show up, but other responsibilities arose. I am in on this one, unless something horrible happens to me or my Taco before the meet.

As I have already mentioned, I am easy on this. You all just let me know what time to meet who. I will be at the brewery. The only responsibility I have is that I need to be home Tuesday afternoon to meet friends from out of state who are staying at my house. Last time I hung out with them, they were house broken, but now they have a child.

i totally get that. but when you drive 9 hours for me, and 100,000 hours for mike to go explore somewhere, you want to see as much as possible. I don't blame them for it. The first 3 days of the moab trip this year for us were 14 hour days. Some people can't handle that, and that is what we just have to work out. But calling off the whole trip and going it alone because they are being overzealous is dumb.

Cool! I wanna meet at the brewery...haha

Zane and Lisa will meet you there perhaps Saturday? How's noon sound to you three? Grab a meal and then hit the road!

    No...haha

    I stand corrected..

    But there are a lot.

Basically you'll just go to the top. We will see you up there one way or another headed out. Just shoot me a text if that's your final plan
