The reason they're in your neighborhood is because people are leaving things for them to take. 'Getting in their head' could end up getting YOU killed or in jail and at least in trouble with the law and a record that follows you for the rest of your life. Is it worth it for a swing-arm stand? Hell, a member is willing to sell you a Pit Bull at a discount... I'd take that offer and chalk it up to a learning lesson. Hell, I pulled my motorcycle into my ground-level apartment because I don't trust anyone and that's WAY harder to steal and much easier to track than a swing-arm stand. I know you think it will be doing some good but trust the wisdom earned from making those same mistakes when I was younger... nothing good can come from it and you've got a lot to lose in trying. Just my seven cents adjusted for hyper-inflation.

Why would you put shit in the garbage that you didn't want to lose?

Also, you may want to ask George Zimmerman about taking law into your own hands to make your neighborhood a safer place. I know I've re-evaluated how I handle my neighborhood watch as a result and my 'watch' is now narrowed down to my property lines. Not worth losing everything I have to try to protect some other ungrateful bastard's property. Probably better to get details and call local law enforcement. You're welcome to do whatever you want of course.

Paint the picture for me of where you kept this item that was stolen. Based on what you've said so far I'm picture an apartment or other mass parking area with a vacant parking spot with your swing-arm stand in place where it rests every day. Because if that's what happened then you could have EASILY prevented that theft. If I do something dumb or am lazy and as a result of that an item of mine is liberated from me I look at myself for being partly responsible and chalk it up to learning and make a promise to myself to not do such things in the future.

Why wasn't it in use? Why was it just sitting there? If you weren't using it then why not put it in the garage or house or somewhere more secure?

Not sure why we're even talking about garbage in this conversation. If someone rummaging through your community trash can bothers you call the cops and say you're not sure but it looks like he was putting a large bag INTO the trash can and is now messing with wires in it. That should get them over there pretty quick if previous calls fell on deaf ears.

garbage is left on the sidewalk in front of our townhomes for pickup.

i've seen these scumbags rolling through in their beater cars looking for scrap metal and whatever else they pick up..apparently stands as well

the point of me bringing it up was to bring it aware of those who may see it while cruising through the classifieds, not to start arguing about your views of the matter or views of the actions i wish to take.

My wife and I don't have any business in rush hour in Denver. Neither of us work in Denver any more which is why we are leaving. We are sick of the traffic and being over populated with hippies. :D

No way in hell could I live in either of those places. Remember I'm a firefighter in Brighton and we run calls in lochbouie. People could not pay me to live there lol.

It is fun we had a good time.
