You're misunderstanding what I'm saying. I take extra precautions to NOT be a victim. If more people did then shit would be different. That guy is going to steal something in order to get that fix he needs. He and people like him are looking for the opportunity for an easy score. So why let it be your shit? Does that make it fair? Nope. Just like wearing a thong and bikini top through 5 points wouldn't be wise but it doesn't give anyone the permission to rape you. So, you can talk about what you were wearing not being permission for someone to do what they want or you can use common sense to not attract the attention to begin with. Sure, it's wrong both morally and by law but the world is a mother fucker. You can take steps to not be a victim or you can be relieved of some of your shit and argue about how it didn't give you them the right to take it because you didn't put it away. I know what I choose.

the garage door opener and insurance stuff is no joke, i remember reading a news story a while back about a guy at an arizona cardinals game ... they hotwired his car, drove it over to his house USING HIS GPS and stole pretty much everything he had while he was still at the game

never thought about the registration and insurance cards having my address on em and when i moved to colorado i thought the clerk at the dmv was full of it when she was giving me those and told me not to keep the registration in the truck because i always have, back in california as a precaution "home" was always set to either a bar or the police station depending on the town i lived in and which one was closer to my house.

Ost I understand your point of view. The comment that I qouted helped me to express a different point of view and also share the principal of the entire topic. You are right the world is a mother fucker but I wanted to make sure that both sides of this topic were expressed for anyone following along. Unfortunately our society has become so pussified (wait...is that word) that we have completely twisted the simple fact that stealing is wrong. Now someone who does not want to be a victim has to jump through 1000 hoops to make sure their material possessions are not relieved from them. Victim still remains victim, only now the insurance they pay into monthly or annually will find any single loop hole to not have to pay out for the stolen goods, and the criminal if apprehended finds a way to reduce his sentence through a scum bag lawyer and is out in a couple of months to go back to his lifestyle of "easy money".

Your choice to "not be a victim" is yours of course but really you should not have to live that way.

anybody that owns a home I highly recommend a camera system for your house. They are cheep and easy to install, or if so inclined or comcast has a good system for a reasonable price. I got an 8 camera setup that will take up to 16 cameras for $500 from microcenter. They can see in pitch black for 100 feet. I can watch them over the web on my phone or ipad.

How can you not leave your registration in your vehicle?

Isn't it the first thing an officer asks for if you're pulled over?

My insurance card is always in my wallet, but where do I put my registration?
