That trip I went from Tucson to Silver City NM to Alpine, AZ back to Tucson and it was about 3 tanks. The Silver City to Alpine part was done here though.

    Just the basics

That shower is pretty damn cool. Pricey but you have more peeps with you than I do. My new solution is a translucent 5gal to store water and then using a MSR 10L dromedary bag (its black) with the spigot with my own shower tube/nozzle and leave it on the hood. Gets nice and warm. Well see in the desert during the winter how it does.

Monache is really peaceful. No campfires right now due to the dry winter. I wish the airstrip was still open.

The telescoping flag pole is just a coleman lantern stand.

Be careful with those TSB springs. I had the flippac so loaded the last trip to Saline that I caused the springs to bend in the opposite direction...and blew the drivers side shock. I now have OME front and back. Does way better with the FWC. I even thought I had overstressed the Dakars. This past weekend I had the FWC off the truck and it was super high in the back with no load.

Serious question from a total newb, that's some of the prettiest country I've ever seen. Could a two-wheel drive make it there?

It is quite nice up there. I wouldn't necessarily say it is the best I've ever seen but I've also been to quite a few places. There are a couple rocky places along the route. I think if you had something like a Tacoma prerunner with a locker you could manage any tough spots.

Golden Trout Wilderness for the win. Serious hiking/backpacking. Amazing fishing.

I too would like to know the access point to Monarch (if it's not too much of a secret). ;-)
