Yeah I went thru that with my boss.....it HIGHLY recommends CCNA before taking the exam but not required. I have some Cisco background so he said he has faith in me LOL....I'm glad someone does!!!!! I really wanted to do my NA first to make the DA easier.....he said if I passed first try he'd buy me 2 30 packs so I have some motivation :D

I'm planning on NP & or DP next year.....the company is hell bent on certs lately (and a HELLUVA bonus plan for em.....paying for my lift wheels & tires if I pass DA)

I've been in IT almost 10yrs and just now getting certifications...never needed them before....just prove what ya knew by doing it. I got my MCSA this spring and will hopefully have MCSE by next spring with my DA & NA.

I had heard about some of those practice tests.....a friend swears by them!

i studied the certways before the CCNA and it was dead on. i made a 923 out of 1000 on it and used it for my Sec + and made an 891 out of 900. definately good things to use AFTER you've read the books and understand the concepts. what company u work for?? lol

DAMN!!! Nice scores! I've always been a server administrator (DNS, DHCP, group policy, security and crap).....did networking as I needed too.....I know the commands I need to do what I need to do and can design where to put a PIX, router, switch & design addressing.....this theory, OSI model, SONA shit is B-O-R-I-N-G!

yeah...i know how that is. i've been networking since active duty when i was an infrastructure technician. still doing it in guard too, but all transit case, deployable stuff. in regular life its all encryption and routers for the most part. i work for general dynamics, but certs arent anything they like to give money for. they will pay for the cert, but wont give you anything for it for the most part. i had to have one w/i 30 days of taking the job, so i knocked out the Net+ since i knew i'd pass...then for my supervisor job i needed sec+ and ccna, so those are done....now i'm just piddling until i find a better company or job.
