My 2013 TRD off Road came with serious factory mudflaps. Should I leave them on or take them off? I will not make many changes but this would be an easy one...

Off I say. The factory mudflaps are ridiculously big, I don't get why Toyota insists on making them so huge. Or you could also trim them if you prefer.

FLAP IT.........i went without them for a while.....chipped the panels a bit....just trim the front flaps, that is what i did. Just lay the rear flaps over the front and trim what overlaps....no one can tell the imperfections when you are flying past them at 100mph :)

Leave them on and trim, but first take them off and put a piece of 3m film where the flap touches the paint on all 4.

They are real easy to take off, so leave them on for most of the time and take them off before a trail run or offroad trip. They save your paint from rock chips.

^^^^this. being that you're in Iowa, i'd remove them for summer, but run 'em during the rough months. works for me here in Illinois. trimmed flaps are pretty unsightly IMHO.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will have to try out my hand at arts and crafts this weekend. Wish me luck with the "flap-scaping"

I trimmed mine (fronts) with tin snips. I say keep them to protect self and motorist behind.
