Caught the first Alaska flight out of Oakland this am. Waiting in line to check my bag and some older gentleman rolls up behind me in line. I did a double take and realize its Willie Brown. He is on his way out the Hall of Fame and we chatted a bit. He's a cool dude.

Haahaa. I don't get how my father in law does it, but then again he was born and raised there. Knows those roads like the back of his hands.

So I figure since there are some locals around I'll get your opinions. I'm in the Bay Area, and will be heading to Mammoth next week for some much needed backpacking, fishing and relaxation. I usually head up through Sonora Pass, but was thinking about heading through Yosemite this time. As far as I can see there isn't much of a time difference between the two, at least not enough to go one way or the other.

Sonora is beautiful, and I don't mind stopping to fish in the creeks.

Does anyone have any opinions on either?

Tioga is a little quicker but motorhomes and lookie-loos can really slow things down-earlier is better. Plus, Lunch at the Mobil station on 120/395 is pretty damn good. Down side is the park entrance fee (unless you have a season pass).

    I almost always opt Tioga.

    Oh I know he does.

The question was a reiteration of Lucases question towards Eric.

Thanks Ian, I appreciate the input. I think I'll take this route, might as well. A change of scenery is always nice. I'm leaving around 5 in the morning so hopefully it won't be bad.

I'll definitely check out this Mobil station you speak of, I'll let you know what my sophisticated taste buds think of it.:D

Did you guys know we have flying squirrels here? Saw them last night in the tree off our back deck and had to look it up this morning. How can I be this old and not have known that? Kind of like being this old before learning that olive oil is great for removing sap.

    wifey in the sig.. ;)

Yeah I used to work at these two gyms here in the east bay, and since I'm back from CO, I go in and workout. Guess they just needed to fill some spots (and aren't happy with the other employees there, so they would rather just give me some cash :D)
