that is if you witness them stealing it from you, but would you confront them at a later date to accuse them and possibly put yourself in danger?

I wouldnt, it would cause more problems than its worth, and then you have someone that knows where you live and has anger towards you. NO THANKS

do you keep your grill outside?

if so, let me know i'll make sure i stop by and take it...you leave it outside so therefore it's your fault if it's taken...

Agreed. Not worth it. The time for crime prevention isn't after it's happened.

Yes, I do. Back patio, under a cover and secure to the house. I'll PM you my address if you feel like it's worth risking your life over a grill.

on your property is one thing, if those guys were coming into my garage to steal stuff and i caught them it would be a different story. same if i caught them stealing the motorcycle mount, i would have confronted them and told them its not trash and my property. if they didnt respond then i would take a license plate # and call the authorities. The confusion is that it was in a parking spot near where the trash is collected. My grill on my back deck is definitely on my property

i'll at least be taking photos of the vehicle and license plate when they come back through.

if i had caught them taking it, it would be have ideal as i could have told them it's not garbage.

seeing scumbags like this go through other people's shit pisses me off to begin with. makes me want to put a hornets nest inside of a garbage can and put a sign that says scrap metal on it and see how they like it :D

If someone throws something away is it still their 'stuff'?

Their life must be pretty terrible to be rummaging through trash cans for metal scraps or other items of (limited) value. What else would you have them do since you seem to hate it so much. They could certainly be doing much more nefarious things. A job would be ideal but it they're digging through trash cans we'll assume that's not an option since I don't think anyone actively 'chooses' to dig through trash cans.

i think ost just challenged us to try and steal his grill

the key is not to take the whole grill but to just take the grate off the grill..... no grate = annoying as shit when you try to go grill something :p
