thank you for your correct observation! This will be my first purchased vehicle so I want to make sure I know what I am getting/looking for before I make a purchase.

Is the jbl upgrade just a head unit and speakers? or more?

    thanks guys!

"Upgraded" speakers... if that. A small amp and sub. For someone who isn't an audiophile
. It will be good. For me. I tore it all out. But.. I did have a lemon when it came to jbl. My buddies JBL in his tacoma is 100x better than what mine was.

Gotcha, i may or may not spend extra for the jbl upgrade. I like to pick my own sub and amp. How are the speakers and head unit with the upgrade?

Headunit is the same. The speakers are honestly worthless in both packages imo. If you want to add your own sub and amp .. don't get the jbl system obviously. Would be a waste.

Here's a couple pics of my DCLB tacoma.

Just took this after a wash; it's debadged on the sides and back now.

Here's a pic from about a year ago with a Kawasaki KLX110 (mini dirtbike) in the back - emblems and pinstripes were still on at the time

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
This is why I like TW, a lot of focus on worthless junk. A $2k investment to get factory JBL when he could spend $1k and blow JBL out of the water.

    Fools and their money...

Op the JBL Nav and entune system is really good. You get navigation, entune, pandora apps, hd radio, satelite radio cd player on a 6.1” touch screen. Six jbl speakers plus a small amp and sub. It IS a good radio. Far better than other truck manufacturers offerings. The ford f150 comes with a 700 watt sony stereo with nav and it really sucks bad. The tacoma’s upgraded radio is actually pretty nice. If your a audiofile and want to buy a new truck and proceed to tear it all apart. Then the Nav/entune/jbl system isn’t for you.

The ford system is so shitty you can’t even hear it when it’s cranked to the max volume if you have the windows down!

I like them. They have more side bolstering then the regular tacoma seats. More like a sports car seat then a truck seat. I really like the waterproof material they are made out of too.

Thanks man, it's a dark green color, I forget the exact name of it but I like it a lot, don't really see many tacomas around with the same color. The seats are nice, I don't know whether they are part of the SR5 or TRD package but here's a pic of the front buckets:

Just found out the name of the color - it's timberland mica. I tried to edit that into my first post but it wouldn't let me
