What's so bad about this lift?

I'm looking for a cheap leveling kit. Is this one bad?

 

What isn't bad about it?

 

You have a $30,000 less-than-year-old truck; dont get a lift for it from ebay! haha

no-name spacers and AAL, theres 0 way to ascertain quality from the listing

we generally advise to stay away from spacers

also lifting the back and the front is a "lift" more than a "level"

Save up and get Bilstein 5100 shocks, toytec springs and a 3 leaf pack. The ride quality is great and I think I spent under $750.00

Is it just as simple as slap 5100's up front? Stock coils are still alright with billie's? Then a leaf pack in the rear with stock shocks? Like I said, still learning

 

Don't need a leaf pack unless you want to spend the money, in which case you should swap coils with the OEM coils. You can spend $79 and get an AAL (add a leaf) with the 5100s and use the stock coils, there are lots of members here running the same setup and are happy.

You asked what was "Bad" about the lift; you get what you pay for

since your truck is still new, 5100's up front with the coil seat set to the middle setting should even your truck out. if you're looking to lift the whole thing, an AAL in the rear and 5100's up front should be fine

if you set the 5100 to the top setting, the ride might get a bit stiff though; since you're adding a lot of preload compression to the stock coil.

as for the AAL shock, you might get away with a small aal and stock shocks; but it'd be better to swap them for longer ones if you decide to lift the whole truck

 

Like some of the other guys have said, just 5100s in the front with the stock spring and a AAL in the rear. 2.5" on the front billy and a 1.5" AAL will just about level your truck. You can see if you like the ride or if its too stiff. If it is you can change you're front springs to something more desirable, comfort wise.

 

Not the best for sure, but it’s ok if you just want the lifted look to fit bigger tires.

What shocks do i buy for the rear? And what "name brand" AAL do I get?

 

buy from toytec lifts, they have a complete kit. and save your money-say no to the front differential drop (if u have 4X4)

 

Bilstein makes 5100s for the rear too...

The first part of learning is doing some research before you ask questions. I am still learning too but come on man. I am sure I have asked some bad questions in my day but.................... Come on man.

I started with a spacer lift. No complaints. It's a cheap way to get some lift, I don't see the need for the AAL Go with a 1" block if you feel the need to lift the rear.

After the spacer I went with bilstein 5100's set on the 1.75". The ride was too stiff for my taste.

I ended up with the OME springs/shocks and a AAL. Ride was wonderful but it was $$. You get what you pay for

Don't shy away from a spacer, it all depends on what you want from it and what you're willing to spend.

Btw, I'm back to a stock 2011 and don't plan any lift.
