I have the miller 375 extreme and love it. I think it's rated for 3/8 thick but I haven't needed to cut anything that thick yet. It's rather pricey though.

I just bought a Hypertherm Powermax 30 and it'll sever 1/2" on 120v. It'll take a long time but I can't forsee using material any thicker than 3/8" anyway. I thought about the Ching chong plasmas but wanted quality so I went Hypertherm. I can say after using it a few times....WORTH EVERY PENNY :)

I'd love to pick up a higher end cutter, but I can't seem to justify it based on the amount of use it would see.

Yeah, found them when I stripped out the carpeting and other stuff.

Change of plans, going to go with an internal cage. Already removed the windshield and xtra cab windows and completely stripped out the interior minus the dash.

So whats your plan? Kind of seems like a little ADHD tearing everything up at once. Are you starting the rear first, the front first, the cage first?

Can't wait to see some progress! I am definitely gonna be jelly of the internal cage. You gonna build it or get the 4xInno one

Plan? I have no plan. :anonymous:

I have ADD, that's part of it. :D Plus a lot of this I'm trying to figure out as I go. (Murphy's Law - 1st casualty to every battle is the battle plan.) I've already decided to skip the BL and now I'm switching cage designs.
I'm holding off on a lot of the fab work until I get the crawl box in. When that's in, I can determine where I want the drivetrain, make the mounts/crossmembers, and find out where exactly I can put the link crossmember.

If I'm doing an internal cage that is tied in/welded to the frame, should I replace the body mount bushings with some tubing or something? Cage would be welded to the cab.

Honestly I wouldn't fuck with making one. The 4xfucking kit is a really good kit and its for a great price. Buy it when there is a deal going on. You can install it in 2 days! Focus on getting something on the SAC done man. Just my .02 ;)

The 4xfucking kit? Never heard of it.:p

I had thought about their kit for a long time. Between trying to tie it in to the bed & engine cage, and trying to get it as tight to the body as possible (for cab space and welding to the body), going to have to fab up my own. The 4xI kit is made to with all the interior still intact. Of which mine is not. :anonymous:

I have half a dozen or more side projects (all related to the build) I can work on while I wait for parts and more cash.

Still stripping down the cab. I was initially hoping to remove the unused wiring without removing it completely. It just kept getting increasingly haphazard though. :anonymous:

Ended up just removing the whole thing. Should've done that from the start.

I should also mention the badass new A/C unit and dome light.

I sure hope you know what you're getting yourself into man. I'd hate to see you give up half way through because of all the work involved...I've seen it happen :( I mean shit, it took me and Mark 6 months to SAC his truck, and that was only the front, and really it's still not done haha.

I try not to think about that part.:D If I did, the truck would probably still be stock.

I've also got a buddy down the road (5-year degree in electrical engineering and currently jobless) that I offered to pay to help me with all the electrical stuff for this project.

One of Jon's best lines ever was after spending a ridiculous amount of hours cutting up two sets of seats (and being at a point of no return for either set) and finally installing the Subaru seats in my truck, he looks at me and says...

.... "I can't believe you let me do that" followed by his ambiguous "heh-heh" chuckle.
