Looks good both ways. Before getting my Tacoma, I used to drool over a black Tacoma like yours with a roof rack. Now that I have a black Tacoma, I'm liking the clean look without a roof rack...but I still find myself considering a roof rack.

    Camelback sells it for less.

I am going back and forth over the same question, and for the same reason, too, would like to port a canoe. I like the functionality, but feel like it kind of makes the truck look top heavy, or too tall. I agree that for some reason lifting the truck seems to solve that, but I think that has more to do with the larger tires placing more visual mass down low. I did see a non-lifted black Tacoma on I-15 yesterday with the rack, though, and thought it looked great. Black is probably the most complimentary color for the rack, so I think either way it will look good.

FYI, I was able to price match at a dealership and got it for 212.75+tax. They are available online for 212.75 + shipping if you look around. I just printed a screenshot and took it to my dealer, they originally wanted $295 (retail) but gladly matched it.

I have been contemplating whether I should add the roof rack in addition to the rack on my topper, mostly in case of long items like kayaks, which I want to get into.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
I agree with this. On a stock they are just okay, but on a lifted/modded truck, it looks really good.

I couldn't find it after a quick search on camelback. Not sure if they have them still?

I decided to put it on. Now I just need to find a canoe to go along with it...

I was thinking long and hard about it, wishing I had one. Pinching pennies for a Pelfreybilt. Far superior load rating and much more bad-ass.

I say leave it on. I used to have a full Yakima rack but I think the OEM one looks more slick and I love the stow away cross bars.

They do, but you have to go into the accessory catalog, not the parts catalog. There is a "Switch To" box at the top of their page that allows you to switch to the accessory catalog and it's in there. It sells for $222, I'm considering purchasing one from them right now.

I don't think they have a model name for it. Just go to their website and look under the "racks" tab. It really is a great design.

    That's what she said ;)

To the OP... Leave it on just don't fold the rails in. Looks better with them going across the roof of the truck. I haul 2 Dagger Axis 10.5' Kayaks on mine with "J" mounts with no issues what so ever.

Buy the way... I've got a factory rack still in the box that I will sell for $150 + shipping. I have no idea how much it will cost to ship since the box is large and heavy but I would imagine it would be around $30 UPS?

I'll take a picture of it when I get a chance if anyone is interested. I got a hell of a deal on it and was going to buy a new Tacoma but decided to keep mine so it is just sitting in my garage.
