I've pretty much have figured out what I'm going to order for my '14 just still really up in the air on auto or man tranny. And having trouble deciding between the trd sport and off road. I really like the look of the sport but the off road has the auto locker..but I guess I could always install that down the road

eh... I didn't say I agree.. the concept is true.. but does have the long term power? does the electric battries will hold up it charge after long time say, 4-5 yrs? what the vaule of trade in .. there are soo many factors that effect this.. I said in the last post.. I have no love for hybrid....
Instead of having the car enginers pound their pea size brains on this, they should left the size of engines alone.. you can increase mpg by computer chips.. that all it takes to make it work.. no need to downsize engine, etc.
I learned what happen to ford and chevy.. with their engine and tranny issues. Ford with eco-engine,, problems like catching fire, don't run smooth,, lost of power. Chevy have blown gasket, head vaule fuck up, burn oil.. tranny loves to hunt gears. I don't know what dodge is up to but they got the engine working right but lousy gas mpg. maybe crappy tranny.
So Toyota smarted up and watch the big clowns mess up too much. also no big hurry to get the 3rd gen taco out yet.. but seen pics of the style which is cool..

My dealer was informed on 7/31 there would be no price increase for 2014.

Market conditions still being soft, it would not surprise me.
Labor costs certainly have not gone up since 2008. Material costs haven't increased significantly over the last 12 months.

I could see maybe some price "manipulation" by changing some of the options packages a bit.

When they found out 7/31, they offered to change my 2013 order to a 2014 for the same deal - it's a lot more likely it's true than the dealer voluntarily eating a possible price increase.

They don't exactly have a choice in the matter unless your 2013 order is for a dealer to dealer transfer.

Factory orders for 2013 closed out in April. Any orders placed after that were for build-out... nothing custom, just factory stock of completed trucks.

Note: No telling what Gulf States/SouthEast Toyota has going on at their local distribution center. What I posted applies to factory orders.

We're not talking about a garden variety loaded up mall cruiser here. It's a base level 50 states emissions pkg only with the sole option a front skid plate. In addition, it's Spruce Green, AC 2.7L 5 speed 4x4. My dealer has agreed to my terms that it will be exactly as ordered or the deposit will be refunded. The only dealer owned 2013 Tacoma, which is even close, is an SR5 without skid plate, and the probability that such a truck is in the 2013 buildout is zero. Add to that, the fact they sent me a copy of the build sheet dated 7/17/13, and your claim that factory orders closed out in April just doesn't add up.

I got that information from the Toyota fleet sales web site.
Production obviously continued, they aren't going to shut the factory down for 2 months unless they need to do major retooling for the next model year.

Hilux, all day long, D engine too. Toyota likes France more than they like USA, just look at those sweep options. hahahaha

2015 will be the next time I visit a toyota dealer...2014 isn't getting my $$$

I went there and did my best to configure the truck I would like. (not speaking french I had to guess at somethings) When I converted the price from euros to dollars my "dream" truck was over $54K.
