I am trying to decide on which spring pack to go with. I have read good comments of both and bad comments. I would like to hear from people who have actually had experience with one or the other or both. I am specifically talking about a custom built pack. Money is not a factor.

I have a 2013 DC TRD OR and want to tow a TT with a tongue weight of 300-400 lbs. and put 300-400 lbs of stuff in the bed and cab. I also need to be able to travel off road. When I am not traveling and going off road, this is my daily driver. The truck currently has an Icon stage 4 suspension with their AAL and minus the overload spring. It dumps 4-6 inches when I hook up the TT but works well for off road and on road unloaded.

Thanks for your help. This is my first truck and I am not knowledgeable about the leaf springs. I came from having three FJ's before this.

Alcan can make you a custom set of springs to your specific needs. I have heard alot of good things about alcans. I went with the all pro's myself with the built in torque leaf and are more than happy with them.

If you want a custom pack, I'd go with Alcan. I did the same thing and, almost 4 years later, I'm very happy I did. My setup is for a stock weight tacoma plus 200 lbs in the rear. I've wheeled and loaded the springs over the years and they still look (and behave) like new. Talk to Bill at Alcan. He is willing to talk with customers about their specific needs. I just ordered an Orbit Eye setup this week, but I've called him 6 or 7 times since November to ask him questions and get his opinion.

The only thing you want to be aware of is Alcan is a small operation. Bill (the owner) does a lot of the work as well. So, you may have to leave him a message on the phone or have his wife write him a note. It's part of dealing with a 3 person operation.

You should had left the overload in. I am very happy this far with my deavers 3 leaf AAL. I left my overloadand has perfect manners on the road.

There was no way to leave the overload in when the Icon AAL was installed because the center pin was not long enough. I have tried to locate a #8 center pin and so far have not had any luck locally. I would like to try it with the overload that I have before ordering an expensive custom leaf pack.

By the way, did you say you were trailering 4000lbs like I need to? I did not see that in your post.

Damn, you know you could use a regular bolt where you have ground the head a little. That's what I did on one side because the centering pin stripped out totally. I have not used the vehicle much for towing, but I am very confident it would be able to handle it no problem. Offroad manners with the current setup is an absolute dream!

Installing the first test set on the 26th, then they will be ready to go. Were expecting good things from them!
