I'm new to the Toyota world all together and was wondering what if anything is different with the 2013 compared to say the last two or three years ? I wonder because I see some threads and or items that say '05-'12 for instance and was just wondering if there were some significant changes with the 2013. Thanks in advance and I'm sorry if this has already been talked about, I'm new to the forum also lol.

Toyota has done small, subtle changes almost every year. It would take too long to list them all (rear pass air bags, led tail lights, factory touch screen, markers on trd sport model side mirrors, mechanical vs auto lsd, etc.); but as far as aesthetics, the 05-2011 are basically the same. The 2012-13 front end/grill area was remodeled, which sets it apart from the previous years.

Hey, I'm no expert either (mostly cause I'm a girl) but the 12s and 13s have a new front bumper. I think maybe a few other things are different, cosmetically, stereo and such of course. Oh and the intake I think is different. Like you won't find a TRD CAI for the 13 cause it's basically already a CAI, just without a high flow filter (again, I'm a chick, so I could be wrong about this).

Ya it's a pain to find something you like just to find out it COULD work on your truck and maybe the company just hasn't updated their info. My suggestion is to search the product on the forum, chances are others have the same question about the same product.

The stock intake being cold air is actually true for all models since 05, since the trd cai pulls air from the same place as the factory intake :) I think they moved some stuff around under the hood in 2012, which is why the 05-11 intakes wont fit the 2012+

Interior is a little different, not sure when they changed it but my 09 had cloth on the door arm rest that got dirty quickly, no longer on my 13. I would say the biggest is the a/c blower problem, they say it has been fixed in the new ones?

The 2013 dropped satellite radio as an option, and includes a touchscreen radio now. These are of course not major changes, but they are the biggest things I can think of right now that are definitely different from the 11-12.

The back of my mind says there might have been something about the backup camera too.

Not true, you can still get satellite radio on 2013s. Might require you to upgrade to the JBL/Entune option but you can get it.

My master cylinder is different from my friend's '08.

The camera has added "distance lines" to the display. Also, I believe some earlier models display the cam in the radio display whereas my '13 is in the rear view mirror. Could be wrong about that though.

The distance lines were there for the 2012s also that display on the mirror. If you upgraded to the JBL touchscreen radio in 2012 the back up camera displayed on it. Drives me nuts, I'd rather have it in my mirror with those guide lines plus it's more natural to look in the mirror when backing up than the dash.

Well then the '13s they fixed that. I've got the JBL and it displays in the mirror.

I know....kinda irks me. Oh well. I'm waiting for someone smarter than me to figure out how switch it and write a "how-to" for the rest of us.
