Loved BMX as a kid. I had a GT Pro performer, ALL white. That was my freestyle bike. Also had a Mongoose Californian for BMX.

So cool, I had a GT as well. Funny how you can buy a mongoose at Wally World now.

I was into bikes for a while then found skateboarding and never looked back.

    My first real skateboard...

I had a Stormer with blue aluminum bars, but I cant' remember which year. It had these decals:

Within our pack of groady BMXers, we had Mongeese, Ashtabula, FMFs, and god know what else.

I think FMF was considered the pinnacle at the time.

I wasn't a bmxer. I was a mountain biker. But I remember all the bmx guys wanting pegs front and back.

Buddy of mine had a Robinson. He used to strap a life preserver to the handle bars and jump it into the local quarry. Crazy son bitch.

Dude, we are talking late 70s. Gary Fisher was still trying to find a way to go down Repack Road in Fairfax on a cruiser without dying! I got my first mountain bike in like 82, a Ross with the triangular integrates bars and stem.

    Along these lines:

    But these bars:

Mid 90s I had a votec similar to this.

    uploadfromtaptalk1375546524675.jpg

I paid an arm and a leg for it, but I kept that thing for awhile. I was part of a mountain bike team for a few years and mine wasn't even the most expensive bike. That thing could take me anywhere though

Holy crap. Badass. Best I ever had (and still have) was a Specialized Stump Comp with Judys, hardtail, love it for single track in the woods.

I grew up riding on Mt Tamalpais.

I had one of those, they were a big hit.

Being a 46yo myself, I can remember a lot of cool toys from the 70's and 80's. :D

They still make awesome dirtbike exhausts. Not as "desirable" as Yosh, but not nearly as expensive, and they have solid designs with spark arrestors that don't choke performance.
