    Just the basics
Prewitt Ridge is awesome. Was it buggy? I was there either last summer or the one before and it was quite buggy at dawn and dusk.

Some have asked me for information about Monache Meadows. It isn't a secret place and a few web searches should have you on the right path in no time. I don't remember specific roads. There are a few spurs in the area so finding the exact place we were at might take a little bit of effort. Not much though. We crossed the Kern (South Fork) twice.

It was pretty buggy, worst I can remember actually up there. Must have been the timing. I will check out Monache. :)

Just got back from a family reunion.... spent the entire weekend parked with the tent trailer on my uncle's lawn.....

    563015_10151759062415020_686212917_n_zps_a046e553c38349682d286014d532bdf937196719.jpg

First day, we used my little BBQ to cook off the tailgate...

Then the BBQ crapped out... so we cooked on this for the rest of the weekend...

That he does! He and his wife have a couple of acres which fronts Lake Superior. He lives there year round, and every year we go there on the first weekend in August, for our family reunion.

My dad also has a nice piece of land... his house sits on 69 acres of farm land, and has mostly open fields surrounding it. He also puts on a huge family reunion for his side of the family in August.... should have between 250 - 300 friends and family there! :)

We'll be taking our trailer there for the weekend as well... so most likely post some pics here! :D

We love the T@b, sooo much better than tenting. The thing is we do find it a little small now so we are considering an R-pod. I only do a little light off roading and the Taco is holding up fine so far. Nothing crazy, just enough to get off the beaten path and get somewhere I can go shooting. The Xterra was a better truck for that but the Taco is better overall. Sadly the stock tires are even worse than the Rugged Fails that came on the Xterra! The T@b doesn't come off road at all, it stays behind at the camp site.

I've always wanted a mini trailer or tear drop.

The R-Pod was on my short list when I was looking at trailers. I really wanted something for light off-road so I went with the RoughRider frame -- I don't know how much different the R-Pod will be from the T@B but the R-Pod does offer a slight lift that they call an off road package. It is sooo much more fun - hard to imagine! There are also a couple of discussion groups for the R-Pod -- http://www.rpodnation.com and http://www.rpod-owners.com

    Happy Camping!!

Do your research (which is half the fun for me) - decide what you really want your rig to do (tow vehicle + trailer) and have fun!! I really am glad I went this route!!

    Enjoy!!!

I have some more pics of mine at - http://www.flickr.com/photos/netdep/sets/72157626824134599/ - kind of the evolution of truck and trailer.
